Ashling Hotel Dublin is appreciated by many guests for its quiet location, providing a tranquil environment conducive to restful sleep. The hotel's atmosphere is comfortable and welcoming, although some note its size reduces its character. The cleanliness of the rooms earns praise, but some guests critique the housekeeping service. Guests value the ample breakfast options and comfy beds, but some were disappointed with missing amenities and issues with room service. While not centrally located, its proximity to public transportation is a plus, but some guests find it pricey. The service quality is generally highly rated, despite occasional lapses.

...The first night our room was in the newer section with an amazing bathroom! the walk in shower was at one end and a big beautifull tub at the other... Our room was in the older section this time , while still a nice room I had an issue with the tub/shower not having a flat bottom but rounded to fit into a smaller space... The room was almost identical to the last one with the sloped ceiling and small bathtub/shower but by this time I had seen other places with this same design tub and was better able to manuver in it...

...We made the mistake of pre-booking both the GUinness brewery and Jameson distillery which probably wasn't necessary this time of year but did impact on time so we didn't really make it into the centre to see anything but the tram runs right outside the hotel every few minutes. Surprisingly, coming from London, we found Dublin very expensive - the taxi from the airport was 50 euros with the tip which we thought was outrageous !!... The bus is much cheaper and you can pretty much see the stop from the hotel...

...Breakfast staff can’t do enough for you, reception staff go above and beyond... The Bar food was very good, a wait of approx 25 mins for food which is acceptable as food was piping hot and freshly prepared... The hotel really needs to update its rooms to match its excellent staff...

...It was a very clean welcoming hotel, most of the staff we delt with were wonderful and very welcoming, I highly recommend... the walk in shower was at one end and a big beautifull tub at the other... We then left for five days and were able to leave some of the luggage we would not need until later in our trip in a locked in area at the hotel... When we returned we traded out our dirty clothes for clean clothes we had left there...

...I ordered fish and chips in the bar it was stone cold in the middle, the waitress constantly hovered round our table and stood over us when we were getting our cash sorted for the bill, she also removed my plate when my friend was still eating hers... We were refused drinks after 1pm , last two years we were served drinks till 3am as residents... In the morning we phoned reception for two cups and fresh milk for our room but we did not recieve them, and our shower did not work properly either, room was clean and comfortable , but rest of hotel lacking considering the prices...

The hotel is very convenient being near the train station and the tram line although on a good day one can walk into the centre of Dublin easily... I always enjoy breakfast and thought the pancake machine was gone but I found the pancakes on the last morning near to the hot buffet food and they were lovely... ...Our 1st choice place to stay is The Ashling Hotel. Firstly, the staff are simply superb and make you feel so welcome... If walking is not your thing, then just outside the front of the Ashling 3 minutes' walk away is the Luus train system... From the stop by the Ashling into the city centre will cost you 1.75 Euros or if you do a return ticket it is just 3 Euros... The Ashling Hotel is very close to Hueston Rail/Bus station which is excellent... If you fly to Dublin, there is a bus (782) outside terminal one which will drop you off at Hueston Station and takes about 20-30 minutes depending on length of stops on route... An open return ticket on this bus service per person is just 12 Euros... The Ashling has a brilliant restaurant for evening meals and breakfast... There is also next to reception a bar area which also does lunches and evening meals... We really can't fault this hotel with its comfy rooms which are clean, tidy and spacious...

...It was our first stay of the trip, and it was a great way to start things off. The hotel is located a very short walk from the Guiness Brewery, and it was about 20 minutes for us to walk to Trinity College (our first stop of the trip)... There's a tub at one end and the shower at the other, with sinks and toilet between... But large bed was comfortable and lots of pillows were provided to choose from... Service was reasonably friendly; I wouldn't say anyone bent over backwards to attend to us, but we were well taken care of...

I visited with my mum at the end of October for her birthday and the hotel was absolutely amazing!... They also included a lot of teas/coffee/biscuits etc in the room which was lovely... The buffet breakfast was one of the best buffets I’ve been too, the staff were lovely and the food was absolutely amazing and I miss going down every morning... There’s a tram stop a minute away from the hotel which takes you in to the main town and then it’s only a five minute walk to Temple Bar... We booked Ashling Hotel because it has spacious family rooms, breakfast included, and a great location with easy public transportation. It was quick for us to travel to see attractions in the city center, and we were also much closer to Phoenix Park, the Guinness Storehouse, Kilmainham Gaol Museum, and the Irish Museum of Modern Art than we would be if staying downtown... We were quite pleased with our choice and recommend this hotel especially for families...

...This is a really nice hotel with very friendly staff (especially the lovely lady at breakfast !). Our room (Deluxe King) was very good with an enormous, very comfy bed, it was very quiet and the bathroom was enormous... They only make up the rooms each day if you especially request it which I actually found quite relaxing... Nice toiletries but no shampoo which I had expected... Breakfasts were fine, the usual assortment of cooked, breads, cheeses etc... We made the mistake of pre-booking both the GUinness brewery and Jameson distillery which probably wasn't necessary this time of year but did impact on time so we didn't really make it into the centre to see anything but the tram runs right outside the hotel every few minutes... The bus is much cheaper and you can pretty much see the stop from the hotel...

My first trip to Dublin and the Ashling was the perfect choice!... I arrived at the hotel at 5am and was able to check in straight away since I booked the room for the night before... My room was on the 5th floor, it was quiet, clean and cozy and as a solo traveler I felt very safe... I enjoyed my walks to and from the city center, coming from Philadelphia it was not a problem... The Luas is right there so you can easily take public transport as well... The Guiness Storehouse and Jameson distillery are within a 10-15 minute walk and there was a lovely breakfast spot just a few blocks away (if you choose not to eat at the hotel)...

The hotel is located a very short walk from the Guiness Brewery, and it was about 20 minutes for us to walk to Trinity College (our first stop of the trip)... Many of the top sites in Dublin are in walking distance, which is great, because you really don't want to be driving around the heart of Dublin if you can avoid it... It's kind of long and skinny, so the bedroom was long and the bathroom, while huge, was in a strange layout... There's a tub at one end and the shower at the other, with sinks and toilet between... Even the lightswitch to the bathroom is on the outside... But large bed was comfortable and lots of pillows were provided to choose from... We had a lovely breakfast buffet with LOTS of choice...

Arrived for a meeting, and there was a number of issues, most notably a leak in the meeting room. James the facilities manager was a credit to you, and went over and above to resolve the issue. James was friendly and approachable and stopped the leak before cleaning up as much as it was possible to do so. The food was tasty and plentiful, overall I would recommend.

I cannot say enough good things about this hotel. My husband and I got engaged in it 7 years ago and always love returning to visit. We are just back from an overnight stay and it was perfect as always. We had the most fabulous room with a view of the city. The hotel itself is stunning and decorated beautifully for Christmas. The staff is so friendly and helpful. A special mention to Pavla who took care of us, such a warm kind face to be greeted with. Keep up the good work team.

Very comfortable stay. Check-in was easy and staff very helpful. There is a nice bar with lots of seating beside reception. The room was a decent size and very quiet, considering it is in Dublin City. Room service and breakfast were excellent. Luggage storage is very secure, I felt safe leaving my laptop there. Transport is also excellent, the tram luas line is about a 5 minute (or less) walk away. You will be in the city center in about 10 minutes on the luas.

Went with my colleagues from my place of work and spouses. The hotel was very clean and staff very helpful and friendly. The mattress and pillows were very firm/stiff and I thought it was going to be a disaster but I my back and neck problems got better and started getting worse when I got home so no complains there. The bar is great, a lot of space for seating when traveling in groups and the breakfast was very good. Maybe a more selection of jams and cheeses on the bread would make this even better...

Booked hotel as wife was having radiation treatment in St James and this was the last two days of her treatment and wanted to make it as comfortable and easy as possible - made hotel aware that wife had cancer before we came. Stayed in room 533 for 2 nights. Room was cold and bathroom was freezing. I had too go done to reception 3 times and also had to write it on sheet left in room. For the money that was paid and under the circumstances hotel should of making sure room and bathroom was at warm before we arrived really spoiled out stay and this is just poor customer service. Reviews Ashling Hotel – Dublin We stayed at the Ashling hotel for 3 nights in October. While we might stay there again when visiting Dublin, there are pros and cons. The room we were assigned was clean and tidy, but the furniture seemed a bit “tired” (especially considering the price). The bathroom was spacious and tiled, with a step-in tub that could be used for a shower or bath. Unfortunately, it typically took several flushes to ensure that waste cleared the toilet bowl. The location was perfect for our purposes. The hotel is a 5–7-minute walk from Heuston train station (where you can also catch taxis to the airport). Apart from the nearness to Heuston station, a tram to downtown Dublin literally runs directly in front of the hotel. The nearest stop, with ticket machine, is about at 5 min walk from the hotel, and the trip to the Abbey stop, which is a few blocks above the Temple Bar area, is short (15 min?) The buffet breakfast was outstanding with a wide range of choices. We were especially pleased to find that we could cobble together a good vegan breakfast. There may be restaurants in the area around the hotel, but we couldn’t locate any that seemed appealing and so typically ate in the hotel restaurant for dinner; the menu was adequate but nothing special. There is a mini-grocery store in Heuston station that has a good selection of food.
