I'm just home from here today after taking my partner to Clontarf castle hotel for two night birthday treat. I had read many reviews about this hotel and was excited to go - when we arrived there was an antique fair on and the hotel was buzzing so much so we could not get parked in a proper parking space...

I have stayed in this hotel 6 times in the last year, and have had consistently excellent service. The staff go out of their way to provide service. They have always been friendly and pleasant. The rooms are under renovation - but even the old ones are charming and well-appointed. The castle has kept its medieval charm, married with flawless...

For the most-part had a great experience - the hotel building is impressive - a mixture of old castle walls and modern furnishings. The staff were great - friendly and professional both in the hotel and bar. Food in the bar was amazing, would highly recommend for dinner. Only downfall was noise disruptions on one of the nights- walls seemed...

Enjoyed afternoon tea, sitting beside the lobby area fire. Staff well clued up on the range of specialist teas on offer, really tasty sandwiches, luscious cakes and very attentive service. Too much to eat so doggy bag provided to continue the experience at home. Lovely diversion on a cold Sat afternoon.
