Stayed at this hotel last weekend and was pretty disappointed, all the reviews I had read over the last few weeks or so were great. Though in reality it did not live up to the hype. For a hotel costing approx. 240 euros per night the rooms were very average and tired, stained carpets & lamps shades, very basic furniture... More

Loved the decor and loads of glass. Modern and fun. A little bit out of the way for some who prefer to be in the middle of the action. But, it's on the tram line (right outside the hotel) as well as bus and taxi accessible. Not the finest views as there is a lot of construction going on. I... More

This is our hotel of choice when in Dublin. We were here in 2011, 2014, and this year and we love it here. Getting into the center of Dublin takes about 25 minutes if you walk but it's a lovely walk along the river Liffey. The Tram is right outside the hotel's front doors and takes you into the center... Stayed here for a business conference, nice modern hotel, tram right outside if needed to get to city centre. Very helpful and friendly staff, nice breakfast. Good meeting rooms, good services. Bedroom very nice with good wifi. Made a nice change from traditional city centre hotels.

We came to Dublin for a weekend and my choice was the Gibson. What a wow, huge spaces, clean modern lines and excellent service. The room was comfortable and quiet and the staff were so lovely, never anything other than bright and breezy even at breakfast. Breakfast was extra but worth it. Recommended for a city break.

Pretty nice hotel across the street from the 3Arena. This hotel is at the very end of the Luas stops, so we did have to take the tram around town as there is construction going on around the hotel (didn't seem very safe to walk down there at night). Rooms are very spacious with all the amenities you need! Bathrooms... More

Quiet, elegant, yet modern rooms with a view of the River or of a serene courtyard patio landscaped with bamboos and other relaxing features. Clean, clean, clean and spacious rooms, with plenty of storage, lighting, and electrical outlets. Comfortable spacious showers with ample shelving. Good hotel but we thought overpriced.might have been reasonable if breakfast included but they wanted 15 euros each for breakfast each day. After room only for twin room 459 euros for 2 nights. However very handy for tram line into city centre and Odeon cinema.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Chic and understated with a music pedigree that runs deep, the gibson hotel Dublin is the ultimate urban retreat. Music lovers, art junkies, food fanatics - whatever your passion it's right on our doorstep. We do sleeping, meeting, dining, gigging, touring, wedding and relaxing really really well. We mix all these things with a fresh, energetic, slightly off centre approach and we know it works. Exhibitions, supporting local artists, urban weddings and the odd celebrity are elements of what makes us different to the normal Dublin Hotel. You will find our staff friendly, responsive and happy - there is a secret to this that we can't possibly share. The gibson hotel is the ideal location to explore the city and planning your stay is easy. The M1 and M50 are 8 minutes away via the Port Tunnel and we have ample covered parking for our guests. With the luas stop right outside our front door Connolly train station is only 8 minutes away and Heuston train station is a short 20 minutes from the hotel. The Luas will take you to the City centre in 10 minutes or if you prefer to take in the views of the River Liffey a brisk 15 minute walk along the quays will bring you to O'Connell street, the heart of Dublin city. Great beds, 100MB complimentary WiFi, a gym, relaxation area, restaurant, bar and meeting space are all part of the deal. The gibson hotel is modern yet comfortable, it's different and it's better, it's large, it's friendly and it's a building that is alive with great people from the moment you set foot until the moment you leave. ... more   less
