Had a quiet couple of pints in here recently, in comparison to Gogarty's next door, which was absolutely heaving with people, the Norseman was relatively quiet, but it was nice to strike up a conversation at the bar with a couple of Americans, so the quietness was not a wasted visit.

Enjoyed a fantastic meal here, top quality home cooked food, tasted super. Got really busy in the restaurant upstairs but was really charming with the music playing downstairs. Staff really helpful and pleasant.

Dropped in for a quick pint while waiting for a friend nearby. I used to visit this place in my teens, pre- renovation. It was nicer then and had a more authentic Dublin pub feel about it. The bar counter was more worn and scratched, the walls were tobacco stained, before tobacco stain was a thing, the floor had a... More

We stopped here on our walk through Temple Bar. There was a guy playing guitar with quite a large group of young girls singing along with him downstairs so it was a busy place! He was very good and even did a nice Adele. But upstairs was nice, quieter, and open with tables. We sat right up front by an... More

Best chicken pot pie! Great pub downstairs with live music and a nice restaurant upstairs where you can sit and enjoy a meal while still feeling included in the live music since they pipe it in. We were trying to experience as many restaurants and possible and we came back to this one again.

We were in Dublin for a bit and were within walking distance of Temple Bar. We went to a number of pubs there and The Norseman was the most consistently great. Their fish and chips dinner was delicious and that's also where I discovered my love of Guinness! The live music can get a bit loud downstairs, so having dinner... More

We booked The Norseman via my phone app. After arriving, we could not have been happier. The location in the heart of Temple Bar was excellent for walking to many various locations. The staff made us feel comfortable and welcomed us to the area. Our drinks and food were excellent. It was nice to be able to walk outside and... More

It is difficult to choose a hostelry in Temple Bar, especially when busy, but this was an excellent choice, varied menu, excellent and friendly service, very traditional in appearance and feel, also a decent pint of Guiness!

My family and I were welcomed into the pub for some pints and lunch. We tried fish and chips, chicken pot pie, beef stew and a blue cheeseburger. All plates were delivered hot and efficiently. Most friendly bartenders. They made us feel right at home.

Very good food at this Temple Bar area pub. Also had a singer during early dinner which was nice. Food is good; excellent ceasar salad, fantastic smoked fish pie, very good chicken pie and very good salmon. Service was friendly as well.
