My husband and I had a great time at the Audley House. The hosts were incredibly friendly and accommodating. Our room was comfortable and quiet. The location is very convenient to the center of Cork and to UCC, and the House has parking in the front. Staying here made us feel right at home in Cork!
I had a a one night booking for single occupancy in a double room, and it cost me 120EUR. They apparently have a single room which is cheaper, but it was already booked. Brendan, the host, was welcoming and hospitable but I found it poor value for money. My room was tiny and had a minute bathroom. The bed was the smallest double imaginable. However the bed was very comfortable and the power and hot water for the shower was good. For a four star establisnment, the decor was very dated and tired. The bedroom had two awful prints on opposite wallls, they were identical. And two vases of plastic flowers, which were well past their best and almost grey. The loo roll was down to the last third, with no spare suppled and likewise the tissues, I think there were three in the box. The light over the mirror in the bathroom did not work, and the hot tap at the tiny sink was so loose, it turned a full circle.Sadly the the remote control for the television did not owrk either. I asked about the remote and it was attended to at once, the batteries were dead apparently. However, at this price, everything should be working. The guest lounge is a cluttered and dark space to my mind and not inviting. Breakfast seemed to be good apart from long life croissants and danish pastries. I had fruit and cereal. I went for a walk after breakfast and when I came back at 10.45 to check out, all the fruit, crosissants, cheese etc were still on display and not covered. It did not look welll and you wondered if they would be put out again the next day.…
We had a very enjoyable, though a bit nicer than usual, stay at Audley House in Cork. A few surprises: just a block from University College Cork, which is definitely worth a visit, a slightly longer but still short walk to the lovely Fitzgerald's Park, and not too far a walk into town. And what a warm welcoming lodging to come back to at the end of our excursions. Breakfast was unbelievable!! So many foods it was difficult to choose, but all delicious. Rooms were plenty big, comfortable and thoroughly cleaned every day. Would definitely stay here again, should I be lucky enough to return to Cork City.
Spotlessly clean B&B . Room very well decorated with a really comfortable bed . Shower pressure just right . Really wholesome well presented breakfast . What’s not to love about Audrey House ? Highly recommend
What a lovely B&B! Run by Brandon, a very caring host. From the minute we entered he was there with his tips, help, small talk, humor and care. He arranged a taxi for us on the day of departure, printed our tickets. Our room was clean and neat with a nice bed. Breakfast was also very nice. Although it would have been nice if the croissants had been fresh and warm. But the cooked breakfast was very nice, with a wide choice. The location of the B&B is also very good: walking distance to the center, the university and the old jail. All in all highly recommended!
