Good location, being an easy 15 minute walk into Cork. Great room, being clean, comfortable and reasonable size. Continental breakfast only, but good choice and plentiful. Was unsure of our host at first, but warmed after a great chat at breakfast. Lovely lady after all. Limited on-site parking is free, but recommend making a reservation.

The people who run this place are awesome. They made me feel really welcome and at home. Would definitely stay here when visiting Cork again! Not too far from downtown. It was a nice walk. Something I really looked for as I didn't want to have to search for parking in the city centers since I was from out of... More

We (Mum, daughter & friend ) stayed here on our last 2 nights in Ireland. By far the nicest BnB i have ever stayed in. Una was so welcoming when we arrived very late after a full day's driving. .to show us the detached guest house at the back of their main house with separate parking. ..downstairs a comfortable lounge... This thirteen room B&B is based on the Western Road about 1 mile from the City centre and on a bus route. It is about a fifteen minute walk if you want to use that method of transport as we did. There is plenty of parking at the Lodge and the rooms are maintained in the main building and in... More

we stayed at Acton on the last two nights of our week in Ireland. we were very weary when we arrived - much later than expected, but Una - the landlady, was waiting up for us and was more than welcoming. she delivered fresh milk and cookies to us to enjoy before we crashed for the night, and suggested locations... My friend and I stayed at this BB close to the city centre of Cork (bus out front). The room was spacious and the service very friendly. The breakfast was very varied and had amazing choice of food. Recommended for all really! Great hostess, truly sweet!

I have been staying at Acton Lodge B&B once a week over the past 2 years. During this time, Dominic and Úna have been terrific hosts - kind, friendly and extremely helpful. From the first time I stayed, it felt like home from home. It is very well located - just across from UCC and only 10-15 minute walk from... More

Stayed at Acton Lodge for 2 nights (Friday and Saturday), was greeted in a friendly manner and had lovely conversations with the two ladies looking after the B&B. It's tastefully decorated and I love the location. Walking distance into town and the University. I would definitely stay again and recommend for solo travellers, it's quite safe and quiet enough to... More

Hi, I recently stayed in Acton Lodge & Breakfast. I had booked in Radicliffe Guest House further down the road, informed them that I would be late arriving, but when I came after eleven my room was gone. I was told that someone had to go to hospital unexpectedly and they did not want to give away their room. I... More

Dear Mary, Since you forgot to ask me about the "hole in the roof", I will now clarify. There was no hole "in the roof", there was a hole approximately 6 inches square in the plaster work (as opposed to the roof) due to the fire alarm being fitted. You can put your mind at rest that it has now... More

I stayed at the Acton Lodge B&B. Car parking is at the front of the main house, this has to be reserved. The landlady & landlord were not very friendly. I stayed in the "mini B&B" at the back of the yard. - Not wheelchair accessible. - The room was clean & simple. - Cobwebs above the bedroom door. -... More

I find your review quite amusing. My husband and I have been in business for 19 years and we have never once been described as "unfriendly". Interesting! Our B&B is not wheelchair accessible and nor do we claim it to be. Because both properties on the site were built prior to 2003, wheelchair accessibility is not a requirement. Perhaps you... More
