Have had occasion to stay here a couple of times in recent years. It's a characterful hotel with great staff but in spite of a minor refurb in recent times, the room ventilation really leaves much to be desired. And this seems to be a problem whether one's street facing or looking onto the roof (filled with noisy plant). None... More

Hotel is centrally located in Cork and it is an extremely, friendly and walkable city. The Imperial is a 200 year old hotel, whose bar (try the local whiskey Midelton hard to find Rare Midelton!) and restaurant off the lobby reminds of the well apointed Oak Room at the Fairmount Hotel in Boston. My room had 2 twin beds very... More

Checked into this gorgeous hotel and were thrilled to find the main shopping street only 1 block behind the hotel! There went the rest of our day - our wallets cried but we were thrilled! Close to the bus station and restaurants, the cafe in the lobby is adorable and has great food. We loved our room and had a... More

The friendly and efficient staff at the Imperial reception went out of their way and helped us find a room in another hotel when our accommodation elsewhere hadn't worked out and the Imperial was full that night. We stayed two nights later in this lovely hotel. Charley was amazingly helpful and made us very welcome from start to finish. Thank... More

Stayed in July 2016. Had a double room which had all of the relevant amenities. Was slightly dated decor, but not tasteless. Floor was on a slope, which meant we kept rolling on the bed, but that was fun! Entrance foyer is stunning. Staff were all friendly and considerate. Ate breakfast a couple of times and was very impressed (although... More

The Imperial Hotel in Cork is a disaster! Frist, we could not find it because tour buses were parked in front and blocked any access. Second, once we checked in we had to park our car at the car park which was on the other side of the river about a mile away; we walked back in a robust rain.... More

We spend 3 nights at the Imperial and thoroughly enjoyed it. WiFi was strong, but the TV channels were a bit "snowy". No worries there though...we were so tired at the end of the day from sight-seeing and left the room before 9AM each morning to catch one tour or another, so there wasn't much time to watch TV. The... More
