Ended up here after the place we booked into ran out of space!! Room was FREEZING cold until the evening. Housekeeping need to sort out the following: grime around the plughole in the hand basin, filthy plughole/trap in the shower, GREY edging to the carpet where its not vacuumed properly, NO COVER on the mattress (YUK!), the tea bags are...

I stayed at this B& September 28th. I was very disappointed with our room. To begin with, I stood 15-20 min. outside the B&B knocking on the door, ringing the doorbell and calling on the phone to no avail. Finally, just before we were about to go to the hotel across the road to book a room, the owner came...

The main benefits of staying at the Anam Cara, are its central location, off street parking, and wonderful breakfast selections at the cheerful Serendipity Cafe. This is a vintage building that feels somewhat like a boarding house. Our room was small, but adequate with a small en ensuite bath in need of some TLC. Everything was very clean and comforters...

Second time staying in room 7 and yet another great stay, this time for 6 nights. Great breakfast, great location for UCC and Mardyke, very handy free parking and only a short stroll into the city. Great night's sleep, lovely pillows, extra blankets provided and powerful shower. No faults.

Stayed in room number two which was clean but it's located directly above the kitchen - hum of the kitchen fan! I was also unable to close the large bathroom window which is accessible from the flat kitchen roof, the owner apparently did not know it was broken but instantly knew how to fix it - by using a piece...

Anam Cara had a eat location, close to the University and walking distance to Cork City centre. It also had good facilities onsite and the bedroom was perfectly satisfactory. The price was reasonable given all the positives.

A great place to stay , very close to Cork City center. I really liked this guest house, my room was warm and clean, plenty of towels, no shortage of hot water. The cafe has a lovely menu and I ate there two evenings during my stay as well as having breakfast there each morning. The food was very fresh...

Was paying short visit to relatives in Cork and wanted somewhere convenient for city centre as I needed to catch airport bus next day. Owners of B&B, Aideen and Tim, were friendly and welcoming and provided clear directions on how to get to bus station (about 20 minutes' walk). Room was comfortable without being luxurious but ticked right boxes as...

Aideen and Tim could not have been kinder, and the room for three though cosy was clean and fine. We were running late for a family party and struggled to find a taxi, and Tim took us there himself - he literally did go the extra mile! Breakfast in the attached cafe, Serendipity, was delicious and the service great. Thoroughly...

“Room 10 - very quiet double room at the back of the house, will definitely be asking for it again!”

“I had room 6 - ground floor to the front - not a problem for me as I'm used to the student nightlife sounds of Cork but if not be prepared for a certain amount of noise - keep windows closed. There is a boiler or pump beside the room on a cycle of some sort so difficult to get to sleep although didn't disturb once I feel asleep. The room could do with painting and I could actully slip my stockinged fool all the way under the door there is so much of a gap. There is no bin in the bathroom only the room itself - fine for me as I was travelling on my own but not really hygenic for more than one.”
