Mrs McDonald's B&B was indeed a treat. In short Margaret McDonald is hospitable to a fault; went out of her way to make sure we were comfortable and had all our creature comforts. Margaret picked us up form the port and took us to her B&B - this in spite of the fact that we missed our intended ferry; she... More

I was met at the pier and given an overview of what's where on Iona, as we drove up to the B and B. Ask Margaret any questions you have about the island. She has a broad scope of knowledge. Do go up Din I behind the house and explore the beaches at the North end. The Abbey has services... More

We stayed here on a painting trip and Mrs MacDonald was great fun and very accommodating. Bishops Walk is ideally situated for the Abbey and the North and East Beaches and makes for a very relaxing stay.

Visited Iona as part of my continuing Ed in ministry. Margaret was very hospitable, a great cook, and we had a lovely stay. She also pointed us to things to do. Her location is perfect for a daily walk up the hill to get the best view of Iona. Thank You.

Margaret McDonald stands for everything that you hope for on Iona. She is kindness itself and makes you feel so welcome and at home in her wonderful working croft; it is a marvel to see her with her sheep and the lovely dog, Meg. Everywhere is spotless, cheery bright linen, spectacular views, with a breakfast to last you all day!... More

I cannot say enough about Mrs. McDonald's B&B! We had a truly wonderful time and I cannot imagine ever staying elsewhere on this magical little Isle. From the moment we arrived there was nothing that Mrs. McDonald could not do to help make our stay delightful. The accomodations we just perfect: The kitchen was large, bright and airy and this... Bishop's Walk was ideally placed for exploring (on foot) the entire island; with a short walk into the central village. My room (with two single beds that I shared with a friend) overlooked Iona Sound and the Isle of Mull; it was exceptionally beautiful and serene. The only sound was that of sheep and Corncrakes ( a rare bird conserved... More

We had a very comfortable stay with Margaret McDonald. She met us off the ferry and drove us to the house giving information of everything along the way. She was a fount of knowledge about the island having stayed there all her life. Breakfasts had everything you could want and more.

If you want the best from the Isle of Iona, you need to talk to the islanders. Margaret has lived here all her life and is a fountain of knowledge. The beds were comfortable, the rooms clean, the breakfast superlative - and the location at the foot of the Dun-I ideal for climbing up at dawn to watch the sunrise... More

Bishop's Walk was a perfect location for our 3-night stay. It is just north of the abbey and very handy for the lovely white sand beeches at North End and Calva. It's also right beside the foot of Dun I (pronounced ee), the highest hill and best viewpoint on Iona. Margaret came down in her car to collect us off... More
