Jim's Farm Villas is a luxury boutique hotel, located midway between Kandy and Dambulla, set on a 50 acre organic Coconut and Spice farm and is an ideal base for exploring the whole Cultural Triangle. We have 3 Villas with 14 rooms: all are en-suite, with fans and ac. All our rooms are designed and furnished using the best local woods, local rattan furniture, and Batik from Ena De Silva' Women's Co-operative. Our sheets are luxury Egyptian cotton. We have a very sandy soil-excellent for black pepper- which also means we get very very few mosquitoes. 7 of our rooms are large Doubles: 7 are super large Family rooms, capable of taking parents and 3 children. There is much to do at Jim's: daily farm tours: milking our cows at 4pm: lazing in our Hilltop swimming pool: pool table: Ayurvedic Spa with resident Ayurvedic Doctor: walking our dogs: visiting the 2 local Buddhist Temples for an evening blessing: walk or tuk tuk into Pallepola, our nearby town only 1.5 km from Jim's. I cannot recommend this farm enough. We have young kids (4 boys from 14yrs to 3yrs). They sent us a car (driver Asela was also fantastic), and we came direct upon arrival from the long haul flight from London to Colombo. That was a great decision - this farm was the perfect

Olive, It's a 3 hour journey from the Airport to Jim's via Kurunegala: including a comfort break. Our local drivers charge Rs 12,000 for such an airport collection. Kevin

Here at Jim's Farm, we have a very sandy soil, hence no standing water or puddles. Hence very few if any mosquitoes here. And dengue risk is much greater in the cities. My wife uses a product I think called Oh So Soft by Avon which the British Army used in Iraq; much less aggressive than deet for your skin and very effective for the cities and beaches.
