We were visiting Ayr for the afternoon and stumbled into the hotel restaurant (follow the corridor through hotel entrance). Hotel bar had sign that said no under 21s and we had 2 in party under 21. Restaurant was empty. Stepven was on duty, helpfully explained the different menus, then took our food and drinks order. Very quick, friendly service. Food... More

The hotel is well situated in the town centre. When we arrived the reception was closed and we waited a good while for the receptionist to come. We then went to our room which was clean. The bed was not the most comfy but was fine. For what we paid it was a good base for Ayr.

The Ayrshire & Galloway Hotel stands proudly at the bottom of Burns Statue Square. It is both imposing as a building and looks inviting as a place of travellers' rest and as a supplier of both solid and liquid sustenance. When the main doors open to the outside world, it slightly has the look of Christmas inside. Service is as... More

Called in here last Sunday morning while waiting for our bus to Cairnryan port. Very clean and friendly establishment. The smoked salmon and eggs were great, as was the cask beer from Born in the Borders Brewery. All that and some great selections on the sound system! We'll be back.

Out for the day with a friend. Popped in here at a time - too late for lunch and too early for dinner. They do a menu which lasts until 5pm before changing for dinner menu. This suited us fine as we just wanted one course. Service was quick and pleasant. The meal - fish and chips - arrived freshly... More

We stayed Sunday 1 May for one night. Check in was extremely friendly and efficient and the first thing I noticed was how clean the entrance was. We were allocated room 11 which was to the back of the hotel overlooking the car park. The free wifi code was supplied with our key. Unfortunately we also appeared to be over... More
