We recently stayed on a DBB deal and were given the Churchill suite. As soon as we walked in the room we thought wow! Huge room with sitting area and very large TV! The bathroom was amazing, loved the decor and how different it was. A double shower area, his and hers sinks with cool LED mirrors and a lovely big free standing bathtub! The dinner menu had good choices and the food was delicious. Breakfast was also good, fruit juice and cereal is available to pick up on the way to your table then you order your cooked breakfast. It may have been nice if we could also have ordered some pastries or fruit as well as the cooked breakfast, as we would previously have had when buffet style was allowed, but only 1 option was allowed when ordering from the menu. We have been a bit nervous with things at the moment with everything that's going on but felt very safe during our stay and the hotel have lots of measures in place with one way systems, temperature check and sanitiser throughout. All staff were very friendly and we would definitely recommend the Fairfield House Hotel!

Stayed for one night dinner bed and breakfast courtesy of a voucher from son. Strict COVID protocol in place with temperature screening on arrival. Check in very speedy and cases taken to room. If you wish a sea view room there is no lift but we were informed of this when booking. Room was large and comfortable. Due to COVID no tea etc in room but when booking you can request kettle tea milk etc. There is a one way system in place for bar and restaurant which is well signposted. Drink prices very reasonable for hotel. Three course evening meal with reasonable choices in current climate. Food and service very good. Breakfast service excellent and well organised. Either full Scottish breakfast choice of items or plated continental. Pick up juice and cereal on way to table. Staff throughout hotel excellent and very pleasant. Will definitely stay again but next time 2 nights Location of hotel is good for beach walks and not that far from shops. I would recommend this hotel

From the moment we checked in to the time we departed, we were looked after brilliantly by the staff. Check-in was warm and informative and we were told where everything was and timings for meals etc. Our room was beautiful, clean and spacious with a very roomy bathroom - fabulous big double shower and a stunning, rose-gold bath bath! Never before have we stayed in such a fabulous room. Tastefully decorated, spotless, huge comfortable bed, TV, fabulous array of teas and a stunning bathroom. Breakfast was served with gorgeous views of Arran. The choice at breakfast was good - fresh fruit, pastries, yoghurts and then a good range of cooked items. We also had some evening meals which were all delicious and presented beautifully. The waiting staff were 5 stars. The only downfall with our stay was that it wasn't long enough. We will definitely be back and we'll make sure that it's a longer stay next time. Big shout out to all of the staff, especially Ryan, the hotel manager.

My partner and I stayed here for 2 nights as we had a loveky stay. The room was spacious and clean, very modern but homely. Great shower / bathroom. The bed was very comfortable! The scotish breakfast wasn't upto much around 5/6 items on a plate £12.50 all pretty much tasted the same and pretty bland. Drinks wernt overly cheap to be expected, very nice though. The night security guard got us a big jug of water when we got back to the hotel in the early hours. Much appriciated. The only thing that was a slight annoyance was how loud it was in our room from the wind! Would definatly stay again. Beaufutul Hotel.

So - this is a hotel that is advertised as 4 star. The room was cold, dark and dingy. There was no hospitality tray but one was provided when requested and a portable heater was also brought when I complained about the cold. Question - why are bedspreads and cushions still in use at this time? They certainly don't get laundered after every guest - now how hygienic is that! The mattress was very thin and offered no support so I slept very badly. The cold tap in the bathroom leaked when turned on and the sink was really very slow to drain. There was also a large unattractive crack in tiles surrounding the bath. We were required to have breakfast in our room but there was no table for us to eat at together. I only chose this hotel because of the claim on the website of refurbished rooms. I had a very disappointing stay here about 3 years ago and have since always stayed elsewhere when visiting family in Ayr. This time it was even worse. I did enquire at Reception about seeing on the website that the rooms had been refurbished and was told that only some had been but none on the ground floor. I have given a generous 2"star" rating but only because the evening meal in the Restaurant was very nice and most of the staff were helpful and friendly.

I apologise that the bedroom was not to your liking and up to our usual very high standards. I was very happy to read that you found the food to be of a good standard and team to be helpful and friendly.
