My stay at the well run Fairfield House Hotel was very pleasant. Nothing was too much bother for the friendly but professional staff. The room was a good size as was the en-suite and the dinner at night was delicious. Couldn't ask for better!

We booked the Carnegie suite for a short night away. Room was clean and had a nice feel about it, with the four poster being a substantial piece of furniture. The chairs and the sofa were also nice and useable. The bathroom was fantastic, double jacuzzi and separate shower with a tiled floor, all very clean and with the heated...

We stayed here for a couple of nights. Room 11 was very large with a good view of the sea and the bed comfortable. The dinner menu was not like the one on the hotel's website and my wife and I asked if we could have omelettes instead and this was not a problem. My daughter's room was smaller and...

We had two rooms booked. As has been mentioned in previous posts, ideally try and book the sea view, well worth it. The hotel is located in a beautiful spot. We ate in the restaurant in the evening and the staff were very accomodating, as we asked for items not on the menu. The food was tasty.

Set in a very scenic setting on the west coast of Scotland, this hotel delivered more than what was expected. We stayed there on Hogmanay and the hotel and staff delivered an exceptional experience. The entertainment was perhaps a little dated, but the food and level of service was second to none. Really welcoming and warm staff, high level of...

Arrived on 31st December and have to say was a bit apprehensive, as we were attending the gala dinner and through the bells entertainment, and was concerned it was going to be a rabble. But what a pleasant surprise, the room was beautifully set out, and certainly wasn't overcrowded. Well done to the hotel, as most places cram as many...

With 4 friends of many years standing, we chose this hotel to celebrate the arrival of 2017, participating in the Hogmanay Dinner and Dance and an overnight stay. We made an excellent choice as from arrival to departure, we had a thoroughly enjoyable time. Very comfortable room, friendly pre-dinner drinks and canapés, an excellent meal and then dancing to music...

We stayed on a Hogmaney package 2016. On arrival check-in was very straightforward and pleasant. Told details for the evening and allocated a huge suite on ground floor. Very traditional with grt, shower and Jacuzzi bath. Hotel is in a lovely location overlooking sea front and was tastefully decorated for the festive season.

The Fairfield House Hotel is a 44 bedroom converted Victorian mansion on the seafront on the coast of Ayr overlooking the Firth of Clyde towards the Isle of Arran.
