We have just returned from our third trip this year to The Atholl Arms Hotel, and before we left, the last thing we did was to book again for next year. The character of the hotel is amazing, and this is enhanced by the friendliness and efficiency of every member of staff. As we had our dog with us, we... More

We had a great lunch in the bar area of the hotel, which had the fire going, old interesting pub/hotel with a great atmosphere. The place was really appealing, the food was really good and the staff had a sense of humour. Well worth the visit.

I stayed here on Friday & Saturday night last week. After arriving at the hotel shortly after 5pm, after a 5 & half hour drive, on checking in I was told that the dining room was not available for evening meals that night due to a function being held there, but the back bar was serving food. I enjoyed a... More

For the last five years we have been to the House of Bruar Sale and enjoyed a carvery lunch at the Atholl Arms. A lovely place to sit in the cosy bar on a miserable day with a traditional Sunday roast lunch. This year was as tasty as ever but we were taken aback when we asked for more gravy... More

After a long day of driving, the last part in the dark and the rain, coming out of the mountains, we really needed a place to stay. We pulled off the main road into Dunkeld and there was the hotel. We checked if they had room, and they did, so we thankfully, checked in. We had dinner off the bar... More

We stayed at the Atholl Arms during the last week of October, 6 adults and 4 children - 4-7 years. We found that the rooms were clean and comfortable, the tea and coffee tray was replenished daily. The breakfasts were excellent, can't say I have had a better one anywhere including 4 and 5 star hotels. We also ate in... More

Very nice authentic setting, warm and full of Scottish character. Friendly staff, we stopped for lunch, the food was great and service really quick, the local wisky selection is very good and we also loved the local Ale selection. Great for families and holidau breaks

What a huge disappointment it was! The barman did not seem to enjoy serving customers. He was as bad as I ve seen ever. The younger chap not as bad.. but still dismissive and uninterested. Food was not tasty. We were three people for dinner. The locals are lovely and most welcoming. Pity the bar staff ruin the huge potential... More

Given that this hotel pre-dates the railways, why do people expect it - and seemingly everywhere else they visit - to be something built/redecorated/refurbished the day before they arrive? Rant over, although I'm not convinced that tartan staircarpet is a good idea - it tends to camouflage the treads. This hotel also creaks. And the walls are a bit thin.... More

Had lunch at the Atholl Arms because the alternatives were already full. The Bothy Bar although atmospheric could benefit from some refurbishment. The staff are young but work hard. A good pit stop, but there are better alternatives in the area, if they are not full.
