The youth hostel was extremely clean and tidy, the views from the outside picnic tables were spectacular. The staff were extremely helpful and the facilities excellent. A bit of a steep walk from town especially after a few drinks and a meal.

Stayed here on two occasions during my trip. Both rooms were four bed (bunk) dorms with ensuite. If you get room four, make sure you don't pick the bottom bunk just inside the door because I think a hippopotamus has been sleeping in it! Otherwise, the rooms were comfy, the self catering kitchen and dining room were adequately supplied with... More

The hostel is pretty good for a night or two. The staff was very friendly and Ian, who welcomed us, told us where we could go for a walk, good restaurants, etc. Our room was clean and thought we scored an absolute bargain until I went to take a shower. There was no pressure and the drain was blocked with... More

Second stop on a round Britain Motorcycle trip, rain stopped as we arrived, from Yorkshire, to reveal a fantastic view, from the hill, down onto the town and up and down the glen. Only 10 mins walk from town centre. Lovely building, good food, great staff. High quality Hostel Drying room heat was not on, did get turned on but... More

Really only one complaint £1 for 1 hour wifi seriously in this day and age ridiculous just go to any pub or restaurant and get it for free. £1 a day maybe But for 1 hour barefaced robbery ..sorry but it loses two stars for that

This hostel is quite possibly the best I've been in and I've been in lots. The staff were very attentive, we had a 4 room dorm to ourselves and couldn't have asked for more. There was also a bike shed to lock our bikes away, bonus.

Small, but in a nice setting with comfortable beds for a relaxing night's sleep after a day of rafting or badger baiting. The lounges were a bit small and the staff a little rude but if you simply curl up in your duvet and ignore these insignificances then you'll have a memorable stay.

The youh hostel is up a hill and we were travelling town-to-town on buses and trains. The uphill climb toughened us but it was a grunt. Although you can buy a breakfast, it wasn't great and with so many early and very good cafes in town, we wouldn't bother another time. The essential clean, comfortable bed was fine and the... More

We were very happy that we could find self catering accomodation for 3 nights in August. August is the busiest month in Schotland and you better book ahead. We did except for 3 nights and finding an affordable place to stay proved to be a real challenge. The Pitlochry youth hostel closes between 1100 and 1730; as we happened to... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Pitlochry Youth Hostel is situated only 10 minutes' walk from the busy but small Victorian town. With 53 beds and en-suite bedrooms, Pitlochry Youth Hostel is ideal for families, groups or individuals looking for budget accommodation. Visitors can enjoy the spectacular views of the town from the youth hostel dining room. The youth hostel, which opened its doors 35 years ago, offers two separate lounges to enjoy some quiet time or to speak with other guests. Wi-Fi during your stay: We do our best to deliver a free Wi-Fi service but apologise that connectivity, particularly in our rural locations, can be intermittent due to the level of our current broadband provision along with high usage when the youth hostel is busy. Please be assured we are endeavouring to improve where we can. We thank you for your patience and understanding. ... more   less
