We visited The Royal Hotel for a family meal celebrating my sisters 40th Birthday. A party of 12 and of mixed ages. Can I say a huge thanks to Alan, Ann Marie and Tracy for everything. The level of service and the food was second to none, fantastic. They let us decorate our table and drop off a birthday cake.... More

Yet another amazing experience at this hotel restaurant. Went in tonight for a birthday meal for my husband, we have visited regularly ourselves but this time we brought the worst critics (the children.) Straight away we were made feel welcome by the waitress who was lady so pleasant and friendly, my son who is autistic and likes to ask multiple... More

Once again, the Royal keeps up the high standards. I have stayed at the Royal at least 4 days once a year for the past 12 years for work sometimes twice a year. Each time the hospitality has been outstanding. Food and service is great. Now it is under new ownership, I can only hope the standards remain the same.

Attended a meal here in the aftermath of a family funeral with family members as a last minute booking. Very accommodating, welcoming and polite to all of us and nothing was a problem. Due to diet requirements I was able to substitute items in my meal with no problem. Service was quick and efficient would definitely recommend.

I needed a ground floor room as i could not handle stairs and the Royal was suggested to me. I was welcomed warmly and directed to the fabulous annex and given a huge room with ensuite. I parked just outside so it meant that I was able to just roll my suitcase into the room. A very friendly place which... More

I've been staying here on and off for the last 15 years on business trips to the local area and can't fault it. We always receive a warm welcome from the owners who are very friendly and make us feel very welcome. Even though it is situated on a main road, the traffic through the night is almost non existent... More

Stayed here midweek for a couple of nights. Had a room at the front - bit noisy with traffic but nothing too serious. Room had all the usual amenities. Only complaint would be the tiny shower and the poor water pressure therein - it was an electric shower. That aside, all good. Excellent restaurant. Service friendly, helpful and efficient
