Just went in here for a drink. Very tired decor -whole place needs a good clean and refurbishment. Toilets scruffy, dirty and in need of restocking. Saw a large group of French travellers in the restaurant who appeared to be waiting forever for food to arrive. General impression - sloppy and run down ambience, in need of some TLC. Such... More

The only good thing about this hotel is its terrific view across to the island of Skye. Stayed at this hotel with Coach Party operated by Jones Tour of Flint. Hotel public spaces were in a need of refurbishment. Bedroom was OK. Evening meal was good, but found breakfast for coach party had to be pre-ordered the night before, and... More

My Dad (aged 84) has always wanted to stay here since seeing it in the 1950s. He now has, and it's such a shame that much of the interior doesn't seem to have been updated since and that it so failed to match his hopes. We arrived to find an empty mineral water bottle standing on the dresser. The sofa... More

Very nice and helpful staff when we checked in late in the afternoon after staying on Skye. Food was excellent, coffee very excellent. The hotel is obviously old and well used but still quite charming. We enjoyed the stay and would stop in again. We were able to chat with the staff and get local recommendations and information about the... More

My room was large and clean, bed was comfortable and the view from the window was spectacular. Admittedly one of the double glazing panes had gone, the shower was temperamental and the wifi was only functioning downstairs but the staff were very pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was very nice. For a night's B&B I thought it was good value.

This place should not be open for business. Plumbing held together with duct tape, no water pressure in shower (zip-zero-none)... nothing updated in 50 years. Old floral wallpaper. Indoor/outdoor carpet in room that was coming up. Pillows as thin as your laptop. Tiny TV. Great beachfront if you're a seal. Room heated with electric space heater. Food in restaurant was... More

Have stayed in this hotel for 2 nights, and had a mixed experience. The hotel is indeed tired and need of a refurbishment. But the room was huge with a comfy bed and beautiful view. Breakfast was also mixed as the food was good with a lovely view but staff was not the greatest. Others behind the bar were very... More

Sadly, this hotel is dying on its feet – it's the first time I've decided to leave a hotel and not stay for the two nights that I'd booked (I went for a drive and found a beautiful B&B instead). It's clear from speaking to the locals and looking at the photographs on the wall that the hotel once enjoyed... More

We stayed for one night. Stunning location, hotel was spotlessly clean - if in need of some TLC. In our room the toilet seat was very loose and the next morning we discovered that the shower controls were broken. We reported this to one of the housekeeping staff but she advised that she "did not do bathrooms". We decided to... More
