Stayed here in July as part of a coach party visiting the area including Jacobite steam train and Kyle of Lochalsh to Inverness train. We were warned prior to arrival not to expect too much in the way of luxury but the hotel had friendly and helpful staff and clean rooms - which was correct. It was well situated at... More

Stayed for two nights after finishing the WHW. Upon arrival I got a very friendly welcome from the gentleman at the reception desk. He gave me the key to my room (#5) which was on the top floor. The roomnumbers don't really indicate the floor they are on. The room was of good size and had an en-suite. The plusses... More

Stayed here for one night in July with my husband and father. Have to say the staff were superb and friendly would definitely recommend this hotel to friends. It is a very central hotel and the food is good cracking cooked breakfast. The rooms and basic but comfy would definitely stay here again.

The receptionist was lovely and really went the extra mile to help us, so we were very happy with the service in this hotel. We were less impressed by the room and the breakfast. It seemed a bit sad that someone has made an effort to smarten up by choosing some modern fabric for curtains and matching bedspread, but it... More

Went here with a Groupon voucher...think this led us to be given the cheapest room in the hotel. Weather was bad which didn't bode well with the slanted windows we heard every drop throughout the night.. There are leisure facilities at a hotel near by but you have to drive there. Location is excellent. We managed to get a delicious... More

Just took a chance because we were exhausted and had no time to search the internet. We were lucky to get a room because a tour bus was staying. The gentleman receptionist was very helpful and could'nt do enough for us. This is an old hotel with a few dog ears but a friendly atmosphere...our room and ensuite were small... More

I think the most important thing to understand about this hotel is what sort of hotel it is. If you are used to modern chains then you will be sorely disappointed. But if you are looking for an independent highland hotel then this is bang on the money. First, the service was excellent. The people on the desk had received... More

Stayed here the night before I was doing the 3 peaks challenge and barely got a wink of sleep. Room was small with a tiny bathroom and it looked like it was stuck in a time warp from the seventies. Looking at some of the other reviews on here maybe I was unlucky with the room I got. Breakfast was... More

We stay here every year and have never been disappointed. Just a lovely old hotel with loads of character. Fantastic staff, good food and comfortable clean rooms at a reasonable price! The two ladies who serve breakfast are brilliant, they have worked there for years and nothing is a problem, they're always happy at work! We look forward to our... More

Three friends and I stayed here for one night on a driving holiday round the Highlands. The rooms were a good size (I had a single room and the others shared a triple), the bed was comfy & showers reasonably powerful and hot. Full Scottish Breakfast was fine, nothing special but set us up well for the day - good... More
