Visited together with my partner's parents (before going on the Jacobite train) and we all raved about how much we enjoyed the food and loved the charm & comfort of the hotel. V comfortable beds, fantastic showers, good quality furnishings, cosy lounge area and super artwork all over the place! I LOVED the fabulous stained glass! It's a beautifully and... More

We had an amazing meal last night at the Lime Tree. Food was all excellent but especially the duck and pork dishes-the balance of flavours and attention to detail in each dish was perfect. We were £107 for 2 cocktails, a bottle of wine, 2 x amuse bouche, 2 x 3 course meals, 1 whisky and 2 coffees (came with... More

We were greeted very warmly and the waitress was enthused by the occasion of my wife's 40th and beamed as she showed us to our table where our pre ordered champagne awaited us. The food was excellent, and very good value and we would recommend without hesitation!

The uniqueness of this hotel was overshadowed by the rude staff and the paper thin walls removing any privacy between you and the corridor. Mistakes are made, but the handling of issues by the staff was poor, pinning two paying customers basically against each other while also being derogatory.

We decided to give Fort William restaurants another chance after our disappointment with The Alex and we were so glad we did! This restaurant is located at the end of the Main Street and on entering the building you have two lovely small lounge rooms. The restaurant is upstairs and has around seating for 25 people or so. The restaurant... More

Nice old hotel (former old manse). A bit overpriced but given its location is in a very popular tourist area not probably outwith the norm. Pluses are its very central location. Had a room on 1st floor (7). Limited view of the loch. Quite a bit of road noise from traffic and people passing by, especially in the early hours.... More

Every aspect of our stay at The Lime Tree was fabulous - 5 star. The restaurant on site has a phenomenal menu; the rooms are wonderful with every little thing thought out so that the guest is comfortable and has everything needed. The staff are super friendly and seem to enjoy just chatting with guests as well as providing helpful... More

Part of an art gallery, the walk through to the well laid out, spacious dining room offered a warm initial ambiance. The menu was surprisingly creative using local produce. The party dined on duck, fish, venison and/or rabbit, all of which were beautifully cooked and presented. The gratis duck appetizer before the meal was a really nice touch. Portions were... More

Our room on the second floor was a great size, very comfortable and with a great view overlooking the loch. However we were found the restaurant to be underwhelming and overpriced - £110 for 2 of us for a 2 course dinner with drinks ... For what was very average food. A little time less spend on presentation, and more... More

Our most expensive main course is £19.95. Easily three courses for less than £30.00 which is our target. See our menu and prices on our website More
