hotel is nice,rooms clean,great view out front of hotel.staff nice and friendly,was not to keen on breakfast this time,saying that we will be going back there this year,we will just be eating out,the hotel is in great place for planning trips.we visited SKYE.

Outstanding views of the lake. Great stop over hotel. Up at 4am for Ben Nevis climb. Lunch in bag ready from reception. Friendly service throughout. Bedroom spacious and all you would need. Really comphy bed. No issues at all.
The hotel is quite some way out of Fort William and walking along the road one way or the other is an experience. It is the main A82 road and big forestry trucks use as well as the more normal traffic and they come close...More

i've noticed there is a free day in fort william and we were looking into the ben nevis distillery, perhaps getting a taxi there.
May I ask if you have any recommendations for the free day in fort william?

Fort William has many shops and the local West Highland Museum contains numerous fascinating Jacobite exhibits. The Information Office can provide a wealth of local information on walks and natural history or you may like to take a boat trip on the Loch. Perhaps you would enjoy a leisurely stroll along the loch-side, a trip on the cable car or a journey on the railway to Mallaig. If you are interested in taking the steam train to Mallaig it may be advisable to book in advance to avoid disappointment because it is quite popular.
Ben Nevis Distillery is open 9-5 weekdays and 10 - 4pm Saturdays in September. There is a bus service from opposite the hotel to Lochy Bridge where the distillery is situated. Takes around 30 - 45 minutes with one change from no.44 to 46 in Ft William then a 3 minute walk to the Distillery from Lochy Bridge.
