as people have previously stated the reception and restaurant areas having just been upgraded are nice bright and comfortable, the rooms however are a little different, we were on level three, first impressions stairways walls peeling and marked, and a long dark corridor were not good and into the room which looked reasonable at first glance, the view from window... Who gives the Caledonian sleeper a good review ? Not I. I travelled through Eastern Africa and the Balkans on trains better equipped that the romantically, but incorrectly titled 'Caledonian sleeper'. Neither buffet car were working on boarding our carriage we were shown to our bunks by a forlorn looking steward who sadly announced none of the services ever worked.... More

Public areas clean and well maintained. Staff friendly. Decent, varied choices for dinner and good quality. Buffet continental and full Scottish cooked breakfasts were tasty, well prepared, and hot. Bedrooms clean with comfortable beds. The ensuite bathroom was a little bit dated looking. Wi-Fi was available in public areas but was sorely missed in the bedroom. The television only had... More

The Caledonian Hotel in Fort William must be one of the few hotels I have stayed in where ALL members of staff are polite, friendly and efficient. The Reception team, the restaurant staff, the kitchen staff and cleaners all work so hard. The interior of the bedroom I stayed in was dated but it did the job. There was an... More

We stayed in this hotel on holiday with Shearings. The public rooms have been refurbished to a good standard. We understand that 12 guest rooms have thus far been refurbished. As the room we were in was not one of them, it would be unfair to make any negative comments - it's a case of 'wait and see'. What I... More

We went here with National holidays with my friend as her parents were too ill to go, and was very pleasantly surprised. The room overlooked Loch Linnie and the views were stunning! The hotel has just had the dining room and bar area upgraded which is lovely. The food is excellent with plenty of choice and large portions. The staff... More

Booked one night stay. Public areas, reception, dining room and bar were all very well presented. Our 4th floor room was fine but needed a make over. Dinner menu was good and breakfast buffet was fine with plenty of choice. Staff were all first class and overall the hotel suited our stop over needs. Situation of hotel was out of... More

Having read the reviews we were a little bit sceptical but overall, these concerns were unfounded. The hotel is at the lower end of the price range in Fort William and located on the outskirts of the town right next to Loch Linnhe. We booked a superior room and as an added bonus this had a loch view which was... More
