This was a great place to stay in Inverness. Nice rooms and a very convenient location. The husband and wife who own the hotel area extremely welcoming. Be warned there is no elevator. So rooms are on the second and third floors. But other than that minor detail, this place is great. Spacious and clean rooms. Nice bathrooms with shower... More

We loved our stay here. The room was small but very comfortable and nicely appointed. The breakfast was great but most of all it was the people that made the stay. We got great recommendations for restaurants and things to see and do, and driving directions to all the sites. Everyone was really helpful and friendly.

I particularly wanted a B & B by the river and having spent a lot of time on the Internet, I chose Strathness House. We had initially booked for one night, the night we arrived at Inverness however, we were so pleased with our choice, we booked again for a week later, the night before we left for home. The... We recently stayed at this lovely property. We booked via email with the hotel, and Joan the owner was always prompt and helpful in her replies. The location is ideal if you are arriving by train or bus. It is a short walk on level ground and easy to manage with luggage. The hotel itself sits on a quiet street... More

This is a very comfortable B & B, well located in Inverness. It is easily walkable from train or bus station. The Ness Walk area is central to anything in Inverness. The innkeepers are very friendly and helpful. They personally escort guests to their rooms and orientation includes how to use the showers! My departure time was before the breakfast... More

The B&B we've stayed in previously was not available so we booked the Strathness and were quite happy with this new choice for our Inverness guest house. It's family run, clean and comfortable, and in an excellent location. Staff was very friendly and helpful; every interaction left us with the feeling that they were truly concerned with making sure our... More

Very friendly hosts. Good breakfasts, comfortable rooms. Cannot ask for more from a guesthouse. For several years I have been staying here while travelling to Inverness for business. It never disappoints. Very good location also. Close to the centre and amenities there. Lovely to walk by the river.

Arrived to a friendly welcome after a days train ride. Facilities and room were excellent, I enjoyed sitting and talking and the lounge room while waiting to go out. Received good advice on what to do and where to eat. It's location offers great views to the Inverness castle across the Ness River. Highly recommended.

Stayed at Strathness House at the beginning and end of our North Coast 500 trip. Its in a beautiful old building on the corner of Ardross and right on the River Ness...and an easy walk to restaurants, shops, etc. Very clean and well kept. We loved that our room overlooked the river and we listened to it all night. The... More

We toured Scotland for 10 days, and this was our least favorite b and b. We were traveling with our adult son and his friend, and they were going to stay at a hostel down the road. The Strathness House proprietors did not even want us to bring our son in to the building. I understand these places get totally... More

We were absolutely taken aback to read this review. It came as a big shock. These guests never at any time of their stay expressed to us that they were not happy or felt unwelcomed . They engaged in a conversation about their son and how good an IT person he was. So much so that he was one of... More
