Good stop to stay at, very difficult if you can't go up stairs. No lift. Restaurant great, food fantastic. Beds very comfy and rooms very clean. Staff also very helpful. Free car parking. Good location.

The Beaufort Hotel has been renowned for fabulous steaks many moons ago. My husband and have eaten here twice before. The 1st time, our meal was excellent. The second time it was a bit disappointing, but we decided to give it another bash tonight. We were warmly welcomed by, ( I think) was the manager/supervisor. He cheerfully took us to... More

5 mins walk to high street and local sights. Hotel is conveniently positioned. Clean room but a bit small. A little difficult if going up steps with suitcases as narrow hallways. Quite pricey for limited amenities provided. Staff are friendly and accommodating.

I do agree it seemed a bit of a maze to get to your room through different doors and shame there is no lift.... More

Very disappointing stay at the Beaufort - rooms are tired, beds are small, too soft and the pillows are brick hard. Unless you pay for an upgraded room then the standard room is tiny. Towels are badly needing replaced and the complimentary liquid soap is so watered down that it doesn't lather. We ate on our first night and the... More

I stayed at the Beaufort Hotel for one night - what a night! Sunday 4th September. We were in Room 43 ground floor, at the back. We went to bed at 2200hrs after dinner in the Bar - goodish food - no complaint, I enjoyed the pudding. You could hear residents going in and out of their rooms. At 2300hrs... More

I ordered baked Brie wedges, it came uncooked and cold - asked for it to be cooked and came back half the portion and medi-Oaker warm. The fillet steak med-rare was tough and chewy! Staff we're rude and unhelpful.. Would not visit again or recommend!!!
