Arrived to a wonderful welcome at this charming B&B. Lockdown has affected so many businesses & John was delighted to see us. He gave us a tour of his lovely house & lots of advice on places to eat out & visit. There is plenty parking on site. Always a bonus. Our room (Highland River) was on the ground floor (there are 2 downstairs & the other 5 upstairs). It was beautifully decorated & spotlessly clean. It was large with a king size bed, plenty drawers & hanging space for clothes, flat screen tv, tea & coffee making facilities (& lovely biscuits!) & an en-suite bathroom. Our room had a shower only (some have baths). It was a good size with constant hot water. There was nice touches, such as hand wash, shower gels & hand cream. Also cotton wool & buds and face cloths. Plenty towels were provided along with 2 bathrobes & the heated towel rail meant the bathroom was always nice & cosy. There was 2 chairs in the bedroom & a lovely view of the garden. Here guests are welcome to sit & relax if the weather is fine. He also keeps chickens. There is also a large, comfortable lounge for guests to use, complete with a good choice of books & lots of folders with local information on places to visit. Free WiFi is available throughout the house. Breakfast was the best we have ever had at any hotel or B&B. Choice of cereals, fruit juice, yoghurts & a delicious fresh fruit salad bowl (or all of them if you want!) Keep room for the main event though! Huge portion of bacon, sausage, haggis, black pudding, eggs (do you want one or two?), mushrooms, tomatoes, fried bread & toast. All washed down with a large pot of tea or coffee. Was absolutely fabulous & piping hot. Definitely set us up for the whole day. John & his wife were the perfect hosts & the young girl who served us breakfast was a joy. So friendly. The B&B is on a quiet residential street & only a 10 minute walk to the city centre, where there are loads of shops, bars & restaurants. Inverness is a lovely area with lots of places to explore by car too. We thoroughly enjoyed our relaxing break & would not hesitate to visit again. Definitely recommend.

I stayed overnight in Inverness and am so thankful to have chosen Moyness House. My room was pristine and the shower had great water pressure and plentiful hot water. John is a fantastic host (even got me a last-minute booking at a nearby restaurant on Valentine's Day and a discount for the meal!), and breakfast is not to be missed. Location is ideal--a quick walk to everything nearby.

The Moyness is situated 6 minutes walk from the centre of Inverness, in a quiet street away from traffic. Clean, warm and tastefully decorated. Great family rooms ours had separate bedrooms for the kids and ensuite. Highly recommend the Scottish salmon and scrambled eggs, they have their own chickens so super fresh. John and his team obviously love what they do, reflected in their "Yes no problem" approach to guests. We will definitely be back to our new home in the Highlands.

We very much enjoyed our stay at Moyness House mid April, booked by our tour company. The Lost Glen is a nice L-shaped room with a little seating area and is even nicer than in the pictures, somehow. All of the décor at Moyness House is beautiful. I really liked our bathroom, it was airy with great lighting and plenty of extra toiletries. The plumbing requires a bit of patience, in fairness of an honest review, but the overall experience here is well worth it.

Our breakfast on 3 mornings was wonderful, all the choices you would expect of a quality B&B and everything delicious. I am sorry I did not get the name of the lovely woman who served breakfast but she was very friendly and efficient.

John is a gracious host. He had a crew laying a brick walkway out front during our stay and he walked us in around back through the kitchen when we arrived back mid afternoon one day. Somehow he managed to completely charm us during a quick conversation while he walked us through.

Our final morning was Easter Sunday and hearing the church bells and birds while looking out over the pink blooms of the tree by our window was a real treat.

We spent 4 nights at Moyness House for our anniversary in the Green Isle room. The room was spacious, clean, tidy and well kitted out with storage and tea and coffee replenished daily. The ensuite bathroom was a great size and had lovely toiletries included and it suited our needs perfectly.
The staff were lovely, friendly and attentive at breakfast time.
The breakfast was amazing with great variety and really sets you up for a day of adventure.
John himself was a knowledgeable guide giving local information and tips on where to eat and what to get up to.
We would absolutely stay here again!

This home is just gorgeous and the proprieter, John, very down to earth and friendly. He gave my partner and I a room that was basically an apartment on the side of the house with its own ensuite bathroom and TV room - plus a separate door we could exit and enter to explore the town. The home is gorgeous, clean, and has a comfy community TV room. It's not even 5 minutes walk to the center of town. Inverness is far cuter than I imagined and I wished we gave it more time staying at Moyness House. Oh, and the breakfast was the best we had the entire trip through Scotland!

A Beautiful sympathetically renovated Victorian villa. Lovely greeting from the owner John. All COVID safe and secure. He gave us tips on places to eat locally and was there should we need him. Lots of off road parking available so car was safe and secure behind gates overnight.
We stayed in the ‘Highland River’ room which was large and airy with a super comfy bed, nicely furnished with huge window letting in lots of natural light. The en-suite was perfect too, super sized shower, lovely fittings again lots of light.
Breakfast was excellent fresh fruit and yogurt, super scrambled eggs and smoked salmon. Really good coffee too. Lovely waiting staff this morning, friendly and efficient.
Great location, only few minutes walk into Inverness. We ran 5K along the river Ness and onto the Ness Islands this morning, perfect start to day.
Overall a definite good find and would highly recommend, we stayed only the one night whilst doing the NC500.

We stayed in Moyness’ Sapphire suite with our two children. The two connected rooms and the bathroom were spotless and very quiet. The breakfast, relying on John’s own hens, was delicious and served in an efficient way by both John and a very friendly lady. The garden is lovely and well suited for ball games. Private parking a real asset. The guesthouse is very well situated and we enjoyed a walk to the Ness islands. Thanks to John for his guidance.

Spent two nights here before we started the NC 500. The guest house is well maintained and beautifully decorated and is ideally located for walking into the centre of Inverness. The host John is a first class host and his cooked breakfast is the best I have had for a long long time. Would highly recommend a stay at the Moyness House.

Stayed at the completion of the NC 500. My wife had wanted us to do the drive home but I thought we needed a break. What a great decision. Saw this place from the fantastic reviews - if anything they are understating the place. Could not fault in any way whatsoever - probably the best guest house I've ever stayed in. Bathrobes; great toiletries; comfy king-size bed and an absolutely superb (and very large) breakfast with eggs from the chickens at the back. John was lovely and very helpful in terms of recommendations for evening meals. Would go back tomorrow if I could. Shame I can only give 5 stars.
