We very much enjoyed our stay at Moyness House mid April, booked by our tour company. The Lost Glen is a nice L-shaped room with a little seating area and is even nicer than in the pictures, somehow. All of the décor at Moyness House is beautiful. I really liked our bathroom, it was airy with great lighting and plenty of extra toiletries. The plumbing requires a bit of patience, in fairness of an honest review, but the overall experience here is well worth it. Our breakfast on 3 mornings was wonderful, all the choices you would expect of a quality B&B and everything delicious. I am sorry I did not get the name of the lovely woman who served breakfast but she was very friendly and efficient. John is a gracious host. He had a crew laying a brick walkway out front during our stay and he walked us in around back through the kitchen when we arrived back mid afternoon one day. Somehow he managed to completely charm us during a quick conversation while he walked us through. Our final morning was Easter Sunday and hearing the church bells and birds while looking out over the pink blooms of the tree by our window was a real treat.…
We were booked into this guest house by our tour operator and were not disappointed. It was spotlessly clean with nicely decorated rooms. The breakfast was excellent and the host John was friendly and helpful.
Hands down, Moyness House is above the rest. John was a lovely host and fantastic chef. We felt welcome and were well taken care of. It’s immaculately clean, beautifully appointed, and the attention to every little detail is unmatched. I’m not sure how much I’ll get back to Inverness from Los Angeles but if the opportunity arises, you can bet I won’t look anywhere but Moyness House! Thank you, John, for helping us make wonderful memories!
Stayed at the completion of the NC 500. My wife had wanted us to do the drive home but I thought we needed a break. What a great decision. Saw this place from the fantastic reviews - if anything they are understating the place. Could not fault in any way whatsoever - probably the best guest house I've ever stayed in. Bathrobes; great toiletries; comfy king-size bed and an absolutely superb (and very large) breakfast with eggs from the chickens at the back. John was lovely and very helpful in terms of recommendations for evening meals. Would go back tomorrow if I could. Shame I can only give 5 stars.
Spent two nights here before we started the NC 500. The guest house is well maintained and beautifully decorated and is ideally located for walking into the centre of Inverness. The host John is a first class host and his cooked breakfast is the best I have had for a long long time. Would highly recommend a stay at the Moyness House.
We spent 4 nights at Moyness House for our anniversary in the Green Isle room. The room was spacious, clean, tidy and well kitted out with storage and tea and coffee replenished daily. The ensuite bathroom was a great size and had lovely toiletries included and it suited our needs perfectly. The staff were lovely, friendly and attentive at breakfast time. The breakfast was amazing with great variety and really sets you up for a day of adventure. John himself was a knowledgeable guide giving local information and tips on where to eat and what to get up to. We would absolutely stay here again!
Stayed here for 2 nights whilst in Inverness. Can't recommend it highly enough. John, the owner, was pleasant and informative about what to do and where to eat. The room was comfortable with lovely toiletries in the bathroom. the breakfast was exceptional. Cooked to order, fresh raspberries and strawberries in a lovely fruit salad then a full cooked breakfast which was one of the best I have ever eaten. Good Covid precautions in place. Absolutely excellent in every way.
Have stayed here several times because of the high standards that the hosts provide, very well appointed rooms much better than some of the chain hotels in Inverness, best sleep ever and excellent breakfast in the morning, just a short stroll over the bridge to the town cente, highly recommended.
A convenient stopping point in the Loch Ness area whilst making our way up to Ullapool. Large, extremely comfortable bed. Bedroom on first floor, quiet. Probably had the best nights sleep during the fortnight travelling around here. Large well cooked breakfast. Parking on site and within walking distance of restaurants in Inverness.
