We’ve escaped to the Highlands for a staycation, Rocpool was our base for couple of nights. Nice, personal and welcoming staff made us feel at home, genuinely interested in our plans without being too much, always full of good advice of what to do in the area. We ate in both night as everything else closed at 6pm but couldn’t be happier, exquisite meal first night in the restaurant and laid back second night in the bar, food amazing in both. Breakfast was fantastic and set us off for the day. Room was immaculate, bed extra comfy and the hot tub with cheeky g&t in hand just a cheery on the top after a day of exploring. We’ll be back, we loved the Highlands and Rocpool!
Having stayed at other properties in the same group we thought we would try their city boutique hotel. Warm and friendly welcome on arrival as we expected. Great location for a wee walk round the river which is beautifully lit up in the evenings. Food was definitely my favourite part, simply outstanding. Service was different due to Covid which we understand, safety must come first. Staff were lovely and always at hand. A special thank you to David the Manager for advice on tailor made booster seats for the car. We managed to get one just in time before leaving.
Booked this as a surprise night away for myself and the wife. We had heard it’s the place to be in Inverness but quite expensive, We paid £315 for Room and breakfast On arrival we were greeted by the the general manager David who was very pleasant and very well mannered he gave us a very detailed speech including how to use the facilities in the room. Before going any further The staff in the hotel are all very well mannered and polite just a shame the rest of the hotel is a let down 1: On getting to Room 10 (which is the flagship room)we found the door very hard to open as if swollen up with dampness, found it difficult to close quietly and smoothly. 2: The bathroom was very bright but did smell of slight dampness, we also found pubic hairs on the bath (picture attached) 3. The bed very big and comfortable mattress but the frame is dated and squeaky. Under the bed was where it gets worse. We found a Rentokil mouse trap with mouse droppings I find this f*****g disgusting worse than the bathroom pubic hairs ( picture attached) 4. The TV, when putting the tv on it went straight to what can only be presumed as the last guests history and searching for “Lesbian porn” wasn’t what we were expecting 5. The outside area, the hot tub was set to 41 degree which having a tub at home is very warm and not entirely comfortable for sitting in. There was a sauna outside also BUT we were let down yet again it was more of a igloo than sauna as it didn’t work 6. Breakfast can’t complain about this it was fantastic and very tasty the waitress was very well mannered and polite When checking out we were not asked how our stay was rather a put your key there and off you go like we were a hindrance to them…
We expected an excellent stay after reading the reviews but the facilities and front of house service exceeded our expectations. A very well managed stay that felt both safe and comfortable at the same time. We will definitely return.
We stayed in the Extra decadent room 10. The room was awesome very spacious with a large bathroom and balcony area with hot tub and lovely views Service was excellent with very good COVID procedures in place. Breakfast was delicious with lots of choice and very well presented good quality ingredients. Only downside is it’s very pricey but I suppose you get what you pay for!
