We traveled up from Edinburgh to explore the Highlands around Inverness - about a 3 1/2 hour drive. The Property is easy to find just minutes from the Motorway. We were greeted by the friendly staff that made check-in a breeze and got our luggage to our rooms very quickly. The house is elegant and well kept. The grounds and... More

Fantastic stay (July 2016) 1 night. Upon arrival Kyle opened side entrance to let us in and carry our bags to upgraded room. Massive thank you to Kyle and Murray who made our stay feel very welcome. We had 3 course dinner which was fantastic and had drinks in main lounge. Breakfast was excellent. We toured the gardens (Forbes) which... More

Very pretty setting of a Georgian estate home with a rich history. It is where Bonnie Prince Charlie met with Jacobites two nights before the Battle of Culloden. Scottish piper plays each evening which is a nice touch. A lovely walked garden worthy of many photos. It is located close to sites such as Clava Cairns, Culloden Battlefield and Loch... More

We stay in the superior double room on the top floor facing the big beautiful courtyard in front of the hotel. The atmosphere of the hotel is very peaceful. The hotel have a big area of courtyard and walled garden with variety of beautiful flowers. The free wifi of the hotel is very good and efficient. The hotel decorate elegant... More

The Culloden House is located maybe 5-6 miles from Inverness just off the busy A96 road from Inverness to Aberdeen. As you approach the entrance gate you can see the grand hotel building standing at the end of a half-mile long courtyard. The building looks classic and historical at the same time. The Culloden House actually has two buildings with... More

The staff was very nice, but the hotel needs updating. It has a very neglected feeling everywhere except the garden, which was amazing. After climbing up to the reception we had to climb another 58 steps to get to our room. The furniture in our room looked and felt like it belonged in a museum rather than a hotel room.... More

House with great history, beautifully presented. Nice but a bit sniffy, old school management. I would stay again but sometimes it's easy to forget that outside of London time moves at a slower pace and there are certain etiquette rules. In London, minimal aesthetic high end designer dress worn with similar designer trainers totally acceptable as evening attire. Not so... More

From the moment you pass through the gate, the sound of gravel under the tires, the ivy growing up the front facade, I felt time slow down. There was a quietness to the place. Everything felt very personal, from check-in to the interaction with staff, there was a warmth and sincerity that I didn't expect. The suite 22A & B... More

This is a terrific hotel. It's very historic and looks from its website like it might be a bit "stuffy". It absolutely isn't - the staff could not be more friendly or helpful with blink of an eye efficiency. When we booked the hotel we asked if we could leave two large bike bags and store with the hotel for... More

Friendly staff and delicious breakfast and suppers. Comfy rooms. It's a very old property so has some of the quirks of such, but if you are looking for a lovely experience, this is your place. There is a main house and two connected side buildings. Nice little bar for drinks before dinner and a bagpiper on the lawn for a... More
