Pros: good location (near restaurants, Tesco etc.), breakfast was okay. Cons: Our room was old, especially bathroom needs upgrading. Kitchen staff gossiped among hotel visitors, that is not professional. Room was very small.

Functional and clean room, if a bit on the small side for the furniture in it. Comfy beds, bathroom was adequate. Breakfast was only continental style despite saying hot available, apparently the owner was away when we were there, it was fine if not overwhelming. Close to city centre. 20 minute walk to Inverness Aquadome. No on site parking and parking on the road was chargeable, we ended up in the Cathedral Car Park around the corner (£5 per day so cheaper than on the road and also did not need topping up so often). Would stay again if on a weekend trip to Inverness.

Got a parking ticket. So make sure you put a ticket on right away. Public parking behind the Cathedral at the end of the street, pay and display again, only cheaper. Small room 9x9, plus tiny bathroom. It was clean, that’s the only good thing. Couldn’t screw the heat down in the bathroom. The door to the toilet didn’t close. You could put your fingers through the gap. The tv was in a four plug extension. The same one for the kettle. But in order for the kettle to work you had to jiggle the extension cable about or it kept switching off 🤷🏼‍♀️😣. The rooms at the front never got used, but they were lovely. Better than what we were given. Strange. Staff appeared like Aladdin out of his lamp, creepy. So if you just want somewhere to sleep then it’s ok. But far too small. Me and my friend had to share a double bed 😣. Also we had to listen to the people in the room opposite, and next door 🙉. Breakfast is only continental and not a cooked breakfast and is NOT included. Wouldn’t recommend, but each to their own.

This was my 1st visit to the sleepy town of Inverness. Chose Whinpark as it was rated high on Booking.com and also within my budget. The building is on a quaint street, ending right on the river bank. The property is very well maintained and managed. Paid parking spaces are available right next to the sidewalk. Though the room was smallish, it was fine for a solo guest. All the amenities were exactly as mentioned during booking and all the mechanical / electrical equipments worked without any glitches. The hosts were extremely professional and largely kept to themselves. Location is very close to the heart of Inverness but at the same time comfortably secluded.

I moved on to Whin Park from a dreadful establishment nearby, and it was a great relief to find it was a proper guest house! My single room was small but cosy and comfortable with an en suite, a plentiful breakfast was provided (albeit not a traditional cooked one) and unlike the previous place, I was given a warm personal welcome. The location was perfect, very close to the cathedral, and within easy walking distance of the river and city centre
