Dingy and dark hallways, room very shabby. Location on working harbour, absolutely not a tourist destination. Breakfast was freshly prepared and served in the room. Everything needed a good clean and complete redecoration, I wouldn't have felt comfortable here if I had been alone.

I have never written a review in my life, be it regarding a purchase or accommodation. However I felt compelled to regarding The Harbour House. We decided to stay in the Harbour House as part of our NC500 tour. What a mistake. From the dirty, cluttered entrance we were escorted up several flights of dark, dirty stairway. Our initial impression... More

Stayed here for one night with my Gran and her westie at the end of our trip on the North Coast 500 route. Had a brilliant stay. The owners were very welcoming and helped us up the stairs with our luggage. They even provided us with plates and cutlery as we were tired and decided to just get a takeaway... More

I stayed here with my other half as part of doing the North Coast 500 route. We stayed just 1 night due to being on the route. On arrival the front door was secure and we had to ring a bell to be given access by the owner. This was a comfort to me as I'm quite paranoid. We were... More

Lobby not very welcoming.Steep stairs up to reception/rooms. However can't fault the service or quality of breakfast served in the rooms. Rooms reasonably comfortable & clean. Very attentive owners/management.

Over looks the harbour, location isn't nice, owners, not really friendly, however got up early to serve my breakfast. Room isn't nice(see photos). £35 for the night! Good Wi-Fi. The place needs modernising throughout. Decent selection for breakfast.

We had a delightful welcome and were shown to our room which looked across the harbour. Very well equipped room with comfy bed and en-suit. Excellent full English breakfast was served in our room at a neat breakfast bar in the bay window. We only stayed the one night as we were following our daughter's cycle ride from John O'Groats... Stayed just the one night on a tour round the Highlands. I had the single room with a separate but private bathroom, which wasn't really a problem. Room was large and bed comfortable and breakfast was brought to my room. Its in a fairly quiet area overlooking the harbour and a short walk into town
