A very welcoming warm place to come to after or before spending time in the rather chilly Scottish nature. Freshly prepared cooked breakfast the way you personally like it. Local products. Clean and nice-sized room. The host’s dedication comes from the heart. She’ll chat to you as if you were family and has a lot of suggestions if you need some advice.
This was our 2nd visit to this lovely place ,stayed in the lovely Middleton room , and booked for next year before we left Great place to stay to explore all the coast etc around, lots of places to eat and an amazing landlady who has a wealth of knowledge about the local area and places to visit
I was due to stay at Lisa's lovely B&B this week. Whilst only a few days into my holiday (in Oban) I felt unwell and after taking a rapid test found that I had picked up Covid. Absolutely gutted, but the only correct thing to do was return home and self isolate, so I called up all of the other events and accommodations I had booked to explain the circumstances. Lisa was exceptionally helpful and understanding, She advised me there and then that I could get a full refund if i cancelled on booking.com website. That's customer service with integrity! Thank you Lisa xx
If you have to visit Thurso (and let's be frank there's not a lot in it) then this is a good place to stay. Set on a quiet road just out of town (a 5 minute walk away) a friendly welcome awaits you on arrival. Our room was clean, comfortable and had all we needed including tea/coffee and biscuits! We paid a not inconsiderate £98 for B&B and breakfast was the usual Scottish fayre and was well presented, though we could have eaten more. If we had to go back to Thurso (and this would take some convincing! ) we would stay here again.
We finally managed to stay here two years after our initial enquiry. Covid might have delayed us, but we were determined to get here in the end. It was well worth the wait and the effort! The B&B is a big house, full of character, and our room had plenty of space to settle into. Breakfast was excellent and we left for Orkney well refreshed and rested. It's a long way to Thurso, but if we pass this way again, we'll make sure we stay here.
Expect a really warm welcome from the host at this lovely B&B. She is also a mine of information. Spacious and comfortable rooms and great breakfasts. Less than a ten minute walk into town, five minutes drive to the ferry to Orkney. Great location for exploring the surrounding area. Highly recommended.
We were welcomed by the owner Liz who showed us to a spacious, clean and well furnished room. The breakfast was excellent and nothing was too much trouble. Being a local, Liz is very knowledgeable about the area.
Just had a great 4 night stay here. Our host Lisa kept us well informed about local sites and showed us unparalleled hospitality. Detailed walks and drives helped us explore the area in great detail and highlighted the beauty of the surrounding area. We also had a boat trip over to The Orkney’s which was very special. Highly recommended.
A warm welcome and a comfortable stay - twice in the week. Rooms are well furnished and large with a sofa, a table and a couple of chairs. Not that you'd want to stay in the room of course, with plenty to see and do in the area. Good breakfast - friendly hosts.
A one night stay as part of a train trip from Devon to Thurso and back in four days. Lisa gave a very warm welcome and I instantly new the stay would be good. It was very good. Lovely room and a good nights sleep in a comfortable bed. Plus an excellent breakfast before the day long train journey to Edinburgh. And I managed to see the sea as part of the walk up to the station. A prime example of a guest house that would really take some beating.
