This was our third visit to Pentland Lodge at Thurso and once again we were not disappointed. Middleton, room no3 is a large room with en suite bathroom, which is equipped with a powerful electric shower. Fantastic. Lisa, the hostess provides a well stocked hospitality tray with quality tea, coffee and hot chocolate makings along with tasty biscuit treats. As usual the place was spotless and the breakfasts which are cooked to order were plentiful and delicious. Cereals fruit and yogurt were also on offer with tea, coffee and toast. There is plenty of off road parking available and two charging points for electric vehicles. The house is located in the centre of town which means local bar and restaurants are well within walking distance. Lisa who was her usual bubbly self, will readily provide details and information about local places of interest and where to eat in Thurso. Thank you Lisa, we will see you next year.

Pentland Lodge House is a beautiful listed building near the sea in Thurso. The rooms are large, very well maintained and decorated with top quality furnishings. We had a very large room with a beautiful en-suite. Breakfast was freshly cooked to order, using local suppliers. Hosts were extremely friendly and helpful. Only stayed one night but would not hesitate to book for longer next time. 10/10 Paula & Brian, Orkney.

A warm welcome from Lisa on our arrival. Our double room overlooked the front door and private car park. The ensuite was immaculate and had lots of hot water available with a heated towel rail. We had 4 nights here and our breakfast was excellent every morning, with a wide choice of cooked items on offer with ample tea and coffee. Highly recommend staying here for Orkney island visits and John O’ Groats.

We stayed at Pentland Lodge House for one night so that we could catch the early ferry to Orkney the next morning. Arriving about 6:40 pm, we were greeted warmly by the young woman on duty. We were given the Hoy Room on the second floor (by US terminology). The room was a good size and had room to lay out our luggage and open it too. The bathroom was typical for Scotland - small shower and sink. Everything was clean though which counts a lot in my book.
This is the only BnB we stayed in that didn't ask us to choose our breakfast menu the night before. So when we went down at the earliest offered time of 7:00 am the next morning, they had to take our order and prepare it all then. It took almost 30 minutes for our food to come out and we needed to leave for the ferry by 7:40. So we had to gulp it down and hustle to check out. We made it to the ferry since it's only a 7-minute drive away, but we were getting worried!
The house is close enough to town to walk to dinner and the oceanfront. Easy walk and mostly flat. Other than the breakfast issue, our stay was pleasant and worked for the 13 hours we were actually in Thurso.

If you have to visit Thurso (and let's be frank there's not a lot in it) then this is a good place to stay. Set on a quiet road just out of town (a 5 minute walk away) a friendly welcome awaits you on arrival. Our room was clean, comfortable and had all we needed including tea/coffee and biscuits! We paid a not inconsiderate £98 for B&B and breakfast was the usual Scottish fayre and was well presented, though we could have eaten more. If we had to go back to Thurso (and this would take some convincing! ) we would stay here again.

Bed and Breakfasts have their own old wold charm and this by far is one of the best one I have stayed at in the UK! What makes this special is not only the fantastically well maintained, spacious accommodation but also, the full of life & very courteous host, Lisa! We stayed for 2 nights in room 2, Brims. The room was super spacious with high ceilings, neat and clean, tea & coffee facilities, modern bathroom, basic amenities in place. So much bigger than the five star hotels you pay for in the UK & much more comfortable. The host Lisa, makes fresh breakfast on order but to begin with there are cereals, yogurts, fruits etc on the counter. Would love to stay here again when in Thurso! It’s amazing!

Extremely friendly welcome from the very enthusiastic owner!
A clean, comfortable, well equipped and reasonably priced b&b. The downstairs "Craigmore" room is very large, and is accessible for disabled. The only minor niggle is the lack of surfaces in the bathroom for toilet bags, makeup boxes etc. so everything has to go on the cistern or the floor.
Breakfast is good. No restaurant of course, so be sure to eat at the truly excellent Captain's Galley (advisable to book ahead).
Recommended.

We stayed for 2 nights in mid December in 2 rooms. Host was very friendly, and turned the heating on in the rooms before we arrived late at 10pm after long drive. Rooms were very nice; breakfast was very good; and no complaints at all. Very handy for the Scrabster ferry terminal for Orkney.

Whilst only a few days into my holiday (in Oban) I felt unwell and after taking a rapid test found that I had picked up Covid. Absolutely gutted, but the only correct thing to do was return home and self isolate, so I called up all of the other events and accommodations I had booked to explain the circumstances.
Lisa was exceptionally helpful and understanding, She advised me there and then that I could get a full refund if i cancelled on booking.com website. That's customer service with integrity!
Thank you Lisa xx

Fabulous overnight stay at this great B n B. Massive bedroom and bathroom (room 3) Spotlessly clean with everything you could possibly want and a perfectly cooked breakfast the following morning. Thankyou so much. Janet and Stuart.

Most people are happy to leave their motorcycles in front of the house in the car park. However there is hard standing at the back. We also have a lockable
shed.
