Stayed two nights in the main hotel. It was very old fashioned but the owners and staff were very nice and helpful. The food was plain but plenty. It is located on the edge of town so if you wish to wander into town it is a short hike. The front rooms were fine but a bit noisy at night.

Hired two rooms for two nights and found the accommodation very comfortable. A hearty breakfast is included with the accommodation. This is ample to start your day. Also I recommend having dinner in the evening as the dining room staff are very polite and professional and provide delicious ample meals. One negative was we had some trouble regulating the shower... More

We stayed for one night. We were able to park the car right outside our room for free. The bed was very comfortable, lovely clean sheets and the room had everything we needed (kettle, coffee/tea, wardrobe, iron, comfy settees, tv, etc.) The shower was very good - powerful - and there was shampoo/body wash. I would stay here again because... More

We had a large studio room for 3 adults. We were able to park our car just outside the room which was great with luggage. Location was perfect for us to base ourselves for 2 nights so we could do a day trip to Orkney from John O'Groats. Room was clean. Staff were friendly. The breakfast each morning was wonderful.

The hotel was very homely and welcoming. The staff were helpful and friendly (even giving us a room upgrade because they were quiet!!) The location is superb for walking around the town centre as well as being pleasant and quiet. The apartments are spacious and provide good cooking facilities.

This is a small hotel converted from different row houses, all connected by inside stairs, halls and walkways. Very clean and friendly staff. Close to waterfront and center town. Dining room on site and close to other eating establishments.

Stayed here whilst visiting family, completely out of season so was very quiet around the hotel and bar areas. Still all staff were friendly, had a good sized room and en-suite. Food was fantastic, both breakfast and our evening meals. Manager was around in the bar, really nice guy, good job to all the staff.

We were travelling by train and this was naturally near the station. The staff were pleasant and helpful. The room was spacious with a sofa, a desk as well as a single and double bed. The Jacobean style cover and hanging at the back of the bed were a historic touch. I liked the fact it had a bath and... More
