I had to travel to Glasgow in lockdown because of a family illness. So I can't tell you anything about the bars, restaurants and other amenities. But the staff could not have been more helpful and cheerful in such difficult times. The bed was comfy too.

My partner and I had previously stayed in August for an unforgettable long weekend where we witnessed the most amazing customer service standards ever. It was a delight to return on the 18th September for 3 nights in a luxurious Signature Suite. This time room 310 if I remember rightly which features an amazing roll top bath as well as a dual aspect outlook. We were greeted by Aithne on our arrival and it honestly felt like we were meeting a good friend. We had arranged once again for a bottle of champagne to be left in our room for arrival. We also had a lovely welcome note as well as complimentary chocolates. The room itself just oozes quality. On this visit we ordered room service breakfast as well as a couple of burgers the following day. The food yet again sensational as was our visit to the restaurant on our 1st night. Same immaculate standards as our previous visit. We sampled a few cocktails usually on the cigar terrace. It really makes such a difference when the friendly staff treat you like a family friend. This hotel just oozes class and the staff are all such a credit to the hospitality industry. We're planning to return for a few nights in between Xmas and New Year. We honestly can't wait. Just like coming home. A special mention to I think his name is Andrew? Our blind fell when we were trying to adjust it and wen we informed reception it was dealt with in a matter of minutes. Also thanks to the young concierge who provided us with an information leaflet when we asked about the open top bus tour of Glasgow. I doubt I will ever enjoy a hotel as much as Dakota Glasgow and can't wait for our Festive Break. You guys are the best. Many Thanks

Dear STUBLK, Thank you for taking the time to leave such a glowing review based on your stay with us in September. I am thrilled to see that you are very much a Dakota Insider by this point; we take pleasure in surprising and delighting our most loyal guests, so it is fantastic that you had such kind words to say about the friendly service you received on this occasion, as well as the personalised touches we arranged for your Suite prior to arrival. Luxurious décor, quality food & drink, and attentive service are at the forefront of everything we do here at Dakota, so it is particularly pleasing that you have recognised these attributes in your review. It is also fantastic that the unfortunate mishap with the blinds in your bedroom was rectified swiftly and to your satisfaction. I will be sure to pass your thanks along to our whole team, particularly our Hotel Manager Andrew and our concierge Ciaran who you have mentioned; I am sure they will both be delighted as I was to hear that you had such a wonderful stay at Dakota Glasgow. We all look forward to welcoming yourself and your partner back to Dakota Glasgow over the festive period. Please do not hesitate to contact me on am@gla.dakotahotels.co.uk if there is anything in particular that we can arrange for you to make your next visit just as special as the last. Kind regards, Aithne Moran Reception Manager

Given the current restrictions, we decided to stay at Dakota Glasgow to celebrate. It was the perfect stay! They had even added some personalised touches, both in the room and at dinner for our anniversary which was unexpected. I can highly recommend the date night, dinner, bed & breakfast deal. Well worth the money for all that is included - our dinner which was fantastic (haggis bon bons, shrimp tempura, chicken milanese and steak with drinks) ended up only £9 over our included budget. GREAT VALUE. The breakfast was available in the restaurant or as room service for no extra charge which we opted for, and was delightful. The bed and room itself was very spacious, including a large tv, little table and two very comfortable lounge chairs; there was plenty of storage space and the bathroom was lovely. We made full use of the media hub, connecting our phones to the TV and speakers. Also included in the deal was late checkout, meaning we could lounge all morning, have a nice shower and head off by 1pm. Currently they are unable to serve alcohol in the restaurant/bar, however room service is still available, very prompt, and drinks very reasonably priced. TOP TIP: There is a tray charge each time, so I would advise ordering your evenings needs all at once and utilising the mini fridge to keep things cool! All in all the trip was above and beyond our expectations and the one night away made us feel so rejuvenated as it felt like a little escape from the current reality. The whole hotel felt very covid safe, with hand sanitiser pumps in reception, the lifts and on each table in the restaurant - also, the hand sanitiser smelt amazing, seemed to have some spa oils or something mixed in. There was screens at reception and all the staff wore masks and were very respectful with space, always asking before they entered your room with drinks whether you wanted them to, or would prefer the room service left outside. I would highly recommend Dakota to anyone wanting some light relief in this time.

Dear Ella G, Thank you for taking the time to leave such a thoughtful review based on your recent anniversary stay; our whole team was absolutely delighted to read your kind words based on your time with us. We take pleasure in acknowledging special occasions, so I am thrilled that you appreciated the extra touches that we arranged to help recognise your anniversary. Likewise, it is fantastic that you were impressed with the value offered on our Date Night package - with £30 per person towards your evening meal, breakfast included and a 1pm late checkout, it has proven to be one of our most well-received rates. Whilst it is a shame that you were not able to experience everything that Dakota has to offer in terms of Bar & Grill service, it is fantastic that were able to take advantage of alcohol as part of our room service arrangements. Hopefully you will have the opportunity to stay with us again once restrictions have lifted slightly, so that you can have the full experience that we are renowned for in our Bar & Grill. Furthermore, thank you for acknowledging the numerous steps that we have taken to ensure that we are Covid prepared and to make our guests to feel as safe as possible in a rather uncertain climate. I also agree with you that the hand sanitiser we use is wonderful. We actually source the sanitiser for our public areas from Ishga - they are available online if you were wanting to purchase some for yourself! Thank you again for leaving such a thoughtful review, and I do hope that we will be able to welcome you both back to Dakota Glasgow at some point in the near future; please do not hesitate to contact us directly if so. Kind regards, Aithne Moran Reception Manager

We stayed for 1 night and I booked a Signature Suite for my wifes 40th Birthday. The room was huge and very comfortable. The bathroom was stunning! We had dinner in the Grill and the steaks were excellent! Breakfast in the room the next day also excellent. Staff very helpful and attentive without being in your face. Would book again in a heart beat. One criticism but only minor.....we previously had dinner in the restaurant almost 2 years ago and the menu hadn't really changed. If you aren't a steak fan then there isn't much choice. Overall though....5 stars!

Dear Paul G, Thank you for taking the time to leave your thoughts following your recent stay for your wife's birthday celebrations. I am delighted to read that you both clearly enjoyed your time with us; in particular, it is wonderful to see that you have noted the attentiveness of our team and the thoughtfully chosen decor of the hotel. I am also thrilled to read that you would certainly return based on your recent experience. I will be sure to pass your kind words along to our whole team. In regards to your note on the Grill menu, we do vary our menus according to seasonality, but certain Dakota favourites (such as our steaks) have remained due to the fantastic feedback from our guests. Nevertheless, I will be sure to pass your comments along to our Head Chef for review. I would encourage you to sample our Market Menu the next time you join us, which is typically available on Saturdays and does change on a weekly basis using seasonal produce. We do also have a wonderful Vegetarian menu to cater to those who may not be quite so keen on steak... I do hope that we will have the opportunity to welcome you both back to Dakota Glasgow at some point soon, as it would be a pleasure to have you return. Please do not hesitate to contact us directly the next time you plan on visiting, and thank you again for your kind words. Kind regards, Aithne Moran Reception Manager

First time staying here. We were immediately made to feel welcome. The staff were so friendly and professional. We sat in the lounge whilst our room was being prepared and our bags were taken up to our room for us. We stayed in the Signature Suite. The room was amazing. Spotlessly clean, great decor. The minibar was well stocked and all complimentary. I requested a roll top bath which the hotel were also able to accommodate. On arrival we found some chocolates and a hand written welcome note which was a really nice touch. As part of the deal for the room we also got something towards our meal, breakfast and late checkout. The food in the restaurant was amazing. Steak perfectly cooked, complimentary nibbles to start. The service was first class. This is a 4 star hotel with 5 star service. Can’t wait to stay again. Highly recommended.

Dear Leanne J, Thank you for taking the time to leave a review following your recent stay with us. I am thrilled that you have rated Dakota Glasgow so highly based on your visit. You stayed on our Date Night package, which I wholeheartedly agree is an amazing rate, inclusive of £30 per person towards your evening meal, breakfast, and a 1pm late checkout. I am also delighted that we were able to accommodate your request for a roll-top bath in our Signature Suite; the bathtubs in these rooms have always proved incredibly popular with our guests, even more so during current restrictions when our guests are perhaps spending more time in their bedrooms than usual! At Dakota, we take pride in doing the small things perfectly, and arranging little surprises over the course of a stay to make our guests feel extra special. It is therefore particularly pleasing that you appreciated the handwritten welcome note and chocolates in your room for arrival. I also agree with you in regards to our level of service; whilst we not actively participate in the star rating system, we do strive to consistently deliver 5 star service, so it is fantastic that you experienced our characteristically high standards during your stay. I will be sure to pass along your wonderful feedback along to our whole team, who I am sure will be as thrilled as I am to see that you enjoyed your stay. I do hope that we will have the opportunity to welcome you back to Dakota Glasgow again in near future - please do not hesitate to contact us directly if so. Kind regards, Aithne Moran Reception Manager
