We had seen reviews of the Alamo the last time we were up in Glasgow, but as it was full at the time, couldn't stay. So decided this time if it was free we would. First impressions are of a lovely grand old building, owners friendly, Steve helped me in with all our baggage. The room I had seen pictures... More

This beautiful B&B couldn't have a better location. Amazing restaurants on Argyle Street, the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Park next door, walking distance to City Center without the noise of downtown. The rooms are beautiful and well appointed. The breakfast was delicious and our hosts were lovely - helpful, friendly and welcoming.

Nestled in the area around the University, this guest house is a jewel. It is near all bus lines and across the street from bowling lawns and tennis courts, ie. it is really quiet at night. The rooms are extremely comfortable and impeccably clean. The breakfast was wonderful. Ann and Steve could not be nicer, and keep an eye out... More

I came across The Alamo accidentally while looking for somewhere to stay close to The Bandstand in Kelvingrove for a concert. I am so glad I did. Fantastic from start to finish. We arrived and headed out almost immediately for dinner before the concert. We came back in for 5 minutes to collect coats, as it was en route from... More

By chance we chose this guesthouse hotel and were so very pleased we did. The location is great - a step to the Kelvingrove Museum which we love. The guesthouse has the best welcome we have ever experienced. The warm, smiling staff can't do enough. Getting a smiling good morning with "What can I get for you" is very special.... More

Beautiful guest house and extremely friendly and helpful staff. We did not actually stay at this guest house, but since our own guest house would not look after our luggage while we explored the city, we asked the staff of Alamo if we could store our suitcases in their hall for the day. They were very friendly and even called... More

My husband and I stayed at Alamo in winter 2014, the first time we visited Glasgow. While we absolutely loved Alamo, when we decided to take a midweek city break to Glasgow this summer, we thought we'd pinch pennies and stay somewhere else around the corner. Huge mistake. We'd booked 2 nights at the other place, but after several disappointments... More

Situated across from Kelvingrove Park, this elegant 1880s Victorian building is owned and run by Emma, Steve their boys and Flash (their 23 year old amazing and personable feline). We picked Alamo Guest House as we were walking the West Highland Way and wanted to be close to the starting point in Kelvingrove Park. Not only is it the best... More

The Alamo is lovely, the position is perfect, the breakfast is good, the staff are good. What was disappointing about our stay is that we were never told about the little 23 year old cat who's home is the Alamo too. It is such a fundamental omission that it affects its rating. I like cats but I am allergic to... More

Dear Tracey, Thank you for your feedback regarding our cat for any future guests :) I have to say that on reading this review I was shocked that you gave us such a low rating that could really harm our standing on this highly influential sight regardless of the cat or not. A shocking 3 for service as well. We... More

Looks Good - Beautiful old building, surrounding, furniture, room and homely dining area. Smells Good - Scents the vintage furniture and timber. Taste Goods - Thanks Steve, Emma and Adelaide on preparing us the good breakfast, love the toast. Coffee are lightly weak, but all good. Sleeps Good - Comfortable bed and pillow. Excellent location - Opposite the Kelvingrove Park,... More
