The Easyhotel Glasgow City Centre is frequently praised for its friendly staff and prime central location, ideal for guests eager to explore the city. While the hotel's atmosphere is considered cozy, with snug beds ensuring a comfortable stay, some guests have remarked on the smallness of the rooms and the minimalistic approach to amenities. The rooms, often described as basic but clean, cater well to those looking for a short stay. Despite mixed views on the hotel's value for money, many find it satisfactory for a budget-friendly trip.

Stayed for one night while attending an event in the city centre, at the price of £29 I knew I would be getting a basic room so arrived with pretty low expectations and just wanted something clean and quiet.

Positives - the location is great and easy to get to from the bus/train stations. The bed was very comfortable and clean and the hotel was quiet however it was a Monday night so think I was lucky! Staff were polite on check in and out.

Negatives - hotel feels very run down throughout the communal areas. Tv costs £5 per day!! Ridiculous amount to charge when the tv is already in the room but you have to pay for the remote. No table or bedside cabinet to put anything on, became very annoying. Room was tiny so although a double room was glad I was travelling alone. Bathroom cubicle is tiny, feels like you are showering on the toilet!

All being said for the price I paid for one night what can you expect? It’s just a small step up from a hostel. Don’t think I would return as didn’t feel very safe for a loan female traveller.

From previous reviews you would think this hotel is faulty towers and covered in filth. I booked to stay for two nights in a windowless room. I knew I would not be spending much time in the hotel room but to sleep and shower. The room was absolutely perfect for what I needed. There was a TV which I did not have to pay to use. There was a large cubby under the bed which had ample storage to leave the floor space clear. 2 hooks on the wall meant I was able to hang up the items I needed for the evenings and there was a mirror in both the hotel room and in the bathroom. I agree that a small bedside table would be helpful as there is nowhere to pop your coffee but at this price point, it is not the end of the world.

What you get is not what you see in the pictures! Myself and my husband were given a disabled access room with a horrible view of rubbish bins outside, on first floor. The toilet was big but the seat was very uncomfortable. We asked to get our room changed was quick but we were given a much smaller room on third floor but better. The only problem was that the toilet was EXTREMELY small, like you would find on a plane. When having a shower, all the water was going out of the door making the room floor wet and slippery. There was 2 of us and we were only given 1 towel. There was no small ledge or table where we could put a few of our things, it was so difficult as everything was a mess on the floor.
The description online says food available but there is no food or drink available at this hotel apart from a vending machine and coffee machine.

We paid £65 for 3 nights which is not that bad. But I wouldn't say that you get what you pay for! They should've done better but you could get much better for the same price in a different hotel like Travelodge or Premier Inn.

The location over all was ok. There's a Tesco just round the corner where you can get small bits and bobs like drinks/crisps/snacks. There's a high street down the road, just a 3 minutes walk with Primark, Greggs, TK Maxx, Superdrug, all those normal shops which you would find in London too. Nothing different. A few souvenir shops which are decent prices too, some a bit too expensive, some okay. There's a shopping centre, just 10 minutes walk from the hotel. A few train stations nearby with subway's too, local buses charging £2.70 - £2.80 for each person one way to get around. There are a few bridges to be seen nearby but not much other than that.

At reception it says free TV access, but you have to pay £5.00 for the remote itself! So how is this free TV?! Be careful of what hotel you pick and make sure you confirm everything beforehand!

Hello Amia, Thank you for taking the time to review your stay with us, I apologise you found the rooms dissatisfying. Our accessible rooms are our biggest room type and this is why your second room was much smaller in comparison. We are happy to provide more towels when needed, we are a 24 hour reception so someone is always around to resolve these issues. Our vending machine and coffee machine cover the food aspect, we did do breakfast boxes too however we haven't ordered these in due to lack of interest. The remotes are not £5, they are completely free and available at reception. We do hope you will give us a second chance in the near future. Kind Regards

TW! HUMAN FAECES

I’m completely appalled at the state of this hotel. To begin with, they expect money for an early check in with a check in time as late as 3pm, bearing in mind check out is at 10am (this leaves the cleaners with 5 hours!) Once checked into our room, which was so narrow we couldn’t even fit ourselves and our luggage without being squashed in between 2 beds, we were shocked to find no amenities available, such as a kettle, an iron, a hairdryer, a safe etc. No storage space, nowhere to hang up clothes, and a bathroom which can only be described as a portaloo. After lifting up the toilet seat, we found what appeared to be pubic hairs underneath. And if this wasn’t enough, i was horrified to find remnants of human faeces on the bedding!!! So of course we requested to move rooms, but it took over an hour for us to be checked into another as the wifi crashed. There was no common area, and the only seats available were for staff only. Come night time, the temperature of the room was extremely high and after paying extra for a window, I was devastated to find out that it didn’t even open and the only source of air-con were 2 holes in the roof with a diameter of about 2 inches. This leads me to question how there managed to be an insect right above my bed. The beds were extremely uncomfortable and we were only provided with one smaller than average pillow that deflated as soon as you rested your head. definitely not hotel standard. I was also kept awake by the light around the keycard/ light system which did not appear to turn off. The shower was covered in mold and mildew, and the temperature kept fluctuating from scolding to lukewarm. The bathroom was so small that I had to shower with the door slightly ajar to avoid being scalded by the pipes that the water ran through. Overall the floor and surfaces were not cleaned to a high enough standard and the hotel had a lingering foul smell. Will definitely not be returning and i would not suggest anyone wastes their money on this garbage. I’m disgusted that this place is even still open, this is nothing but a health and safety hazard. I understand this is a budget “hotel” but this is no hotel, this is a prison. shame on you easy hotel.

Thank you for taking the time to review your stay with us. In order to make sure our guests are aware of what we offer we do list our room sizes on our website, as well as third party sites. Our style of hotel is intended for guests who are looking to drop of their bags and go explore the city and come back for a comfy, good nights sleep. We keep the rooms simple but offer irons, ironing boards and hairdryers free of charge at reception. Moreover, there is a coffee machine which dispenses hot water for a small charge. At easyHotel we endeavour to ensure all our guests have a quiet stay in a clean and comfortable environment and do apologise that on this occasion we failed to provide this. We were most concerned to read your comments. Please be assured that your review was investigated and action was taken to prevent your experience from being repeated. Our air conditioning is controlled from reception and if there are any issues we are able to rectify this. We can also provide fans if needed. Moreover, please don't hesitate to ask reception for additional pillows as these can often be provided. Our common area seats are now back open and the room with the high window has been relisted as a room without one, to prevent this from happening again. I can also confirm that the temperature in our showers has been consistently monitored and this issue you faced has not happened again. We are deeply sorry that you encountered this. We would like to offer our sincere apologies for the disappointment caused and really hope that you will join us again at easyHotel Glasgow. It really matters to us that our guests enjoy every aspect of their stay, and for this reason your feedback is very much appreciated as we strive to improve standards and meet all our customer’s needs. Thank you once again for taking the time to review your stay.

One night stay, 3pm strict check-in time allowing plenty time to clean what are very small rooms. My son had hair belonging to others on his bed, my own sheets had marks on it and the tv had a layer of dust on top that probably had not been dusted in over a year.

No excuse.

The title says it all, this hotel is abysmal. The young girl at the front when we checked in was friendly enough. Now I didn't book the place nor would I have but it was booked for me by the other guy I went down with.

Upon getting to my room I was instantly hit with the smell of smoke. Someone had been smoking in the Wet Unit and it was stinking through the room. The windows don't open and there is no ability to control an extract or heating.

I went down and asked to move room's which was easily done. Upon entering this room I went to the toilet to get ready to go out and one blub was out and the other didn't come on. I slammed the door to go down again to complain and it turned on. All be it briefly. There was also no shower curtain on the room and the walls were dirty as well as some long hairs on the top of the duvet.

Upon checking out the lady on the front desk was less than Polite and didn't seem to care one bit about the things I mentioned.

I know it is cheap but I wouldn't recommend it at all. Splashing out the extra for a Travelodge or premier Inn is recommended. My view of the Hilton across the road made it all the worse and I almost booked a room there.

Just to be clear, this isn't a fine star establishment but it does deserve a fine star review for what it provides at the price or charges. City centre location. Lots of shopping and food options around the venue.

Staff were very pleasant although more knowledge about bus routes would have been helpful given the number of out of towners that will be staying here.

I chose a double room without a window sunder I was literally just sleeping here rather than spending time in the room. It is very clean, nice white bedding. The double bed took up the whole of the Room bar the entrance part but that was absolutely not an issue because I didn't need any more space. There was a toilet and shower wet room, TV, mirror, hanging area (not a full wardrobe but it absolutely sure what I needed). I appreciated the interesting extra touches which had clearly been considered for a compact space such as storage under the bed for luggage, free wi-fi, plug points and light switches by the bed and only having room cleaning and bedding changed on request and for an additional charge, rather than being included in three cost of the Room when it really wasn't necessary or environmentally aware given that I only had a two night stay.

I would definitely use this service again. I paid £25 per night through booking.com which for a city centre location is outstanding.

I'd like a refund. The photos misrepresented the actual size of the room. No room to swing a kitten let alone a cat. There is no air conditioning in a room that doesn't have a window that opens, had to pay extra for the window. Health and safety issues were not taken seriously by the receptionist. After falling out of bed and getting trapped between the fixed bed and the wall, my partner had to struggle to get me up off the floor. I was seriously concerned about positional asphyxiation. The bathroom is no bigger than an airplane toilet. I'm surprised there wasn't a sign in the room asking for £5 extra per night to actually lie on the bed. Considering that the TV is free but you have to pay £5 per day for the remote control. It is by far the worst hotel room/prison cell I have ever had to pay for. I had paid for 6 nights but I couldn't stay any more than one night in that hell hole. I can't wait for Alex Polizzi (the hotel inspector) to pay a visit and highlight the actuallities of this poor excuse for a hotel. I think even cattle are given better accommodation.

Hello Anthony, Thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay with us, we sincerely apologise that you experienced these issues. We do have all of our room dimensions listed online for guests to view prior to booking with us. We do have air conditioning, this is controlled via reception so our team need to be made aware when guests would like this adjusted. We have no note of this incident and we would like to know more about this, if you could email us at Glasgow@easyhotel.com. The TV is free and remotes can be accessed via reception, the signs within our rooms have yet to be changed as this is a recent change; at reception it does state TV is free of charge. As stated above we would like to know more about your experience so if you could please send us a quick email with some more details; name, date of stay and general information regarding your fall. The shower curtain was mouldy, our sink wouldn't drain and the toilet roll was wet when we first entered the room (water or someone else's pee, who knows?). The entrance/ hallways need renovating and our key-card kept breaking. The place comes alive at 3am as people stagger back from the clubs to shout in the hallway, but that's to be expected given the location.

My partner also thought he heard a mouse gnawing in the night but it may have been a phantom rodent, so add 'possibly haunted' to the list of complaints.

The staff I encountered were pleasant and accommodating.

Everywhere else was booked up, and we paid £43 as a last minute trip, but it wasn't worth 20.

I'd probably give the place a 2/5 if the rooms had better heating. Could even push it to a 3/5 if there were tea/coffee making facilities. Kettles and cups are more of an essential than the (pay-per-view) TV.

Hello Jane, Thank you for taking the time to review your stay with us, I do apologise that you were dissatisfied with the whole stay. Our staff do work 24 hours a day and would have been happy to change you rooms to make you more comfortable. The key cards have a magnetic strip and when this is near a mobile device or credit card this wipes the information; this is a common issue within hotels and we do apologise for the inconvenience. We can assure you that there was no mouse, this is the first we have heard of any information like this. We do provide portable heaters which can be accessed via reception; we are a SUPER budget hotel and this is why we are that bit more basic than other hotels. Kind Regards

The idea, in principal, is a good idea. A cheap hotel where you pay extra to improve your stay. However, the result is not satisfactory.
We stayed over the weekend and pre booked months in advance to ensure we had a double and twin rooms. Upon arrival we were told no twins were available, how can this be? We had to settle for two double rooms which was far from ideal but accepted the apologies from the check in staff and went to our rooms.
Dissappointment does not cover it as both rooms are tiny, so small that a prison cell would be bigger. The double bed is right up against the wall on three sides so getting in and out smoothly is fine if you are a gymnast but difficult when you are in your 50's like me. There was a small recess under the bed for storage and one hanger for coats etc. The ensuite was similar to one found in a caravan where the toilet and shower and sink are sort of combined into one area, fine if you are on your own but not as a couple.
I know the hotel was cheap but for a very similar price (£1 more expensive) you can stay at the central Premier Inn and have a much bigger room in a much better location.

Hi, What a great question and that statement is genuine. Now as it happens there is a great place for breakfast. It is with no exaggeration right underneath the bedrooms of the Easy Hotel. As you walk out of the hotel turn right onto Cambridge St and this Café, restaurant is 20 yds along the road. The guys name that owned it is Khizar I had not met until the day I went in there. he had not had it long and I thought how good it was and how much potential there is to it. I as a career have spent over 35 years in hospitality worked for De Vere Plc for 31. hence my reason for having conversation with him. He even gave me his email address and phone number 1041 - 261 - 2842. It was really good. I stayed at the hotel must be 5/6 months ago. I have not been back since and that is due to the nature of my profession.

I paid an extra 10 pounds for early check in when i arrived. This was not a cash payment however, they charged it to the card that the hotel had been booked with. Uf i remember rightly though you could leave your bags with reception but this also came with a charge. Hope this helps
