checked in late and as a gold elite member of IHG I am usually offered either a free drink/water or points. Was not asked this. The room was a box! I was upgraded to executive last time without asking. i am not usually that bothered and know this does not happen everytime but I did book 3 rooms, paid for 2 of them and stayed for 2 nights so i was not expecting the room to be as small as it was. The reception said it was standard and i guess hotel rooms are becoming smaller anyway. i.e. the Hub. Breakfast was okay.

Stayed here for 2 nights - our first visit to Glasgow. Hotel is centrally located. We were in the “Phantom Suite” which was lovely - very clean and comfortable! We have to give a special mention to Kris and Craig on reception who were both exceptional! We have stayed in many places and it is not often you get staff who are so friendly and helpful- they are both an asset to you!! The breakfast staff on the other hand...... have prevented me from giving a 5 star rating. Both mornings we experienced staff who couldn’t be bothered, watched us waiting to be seated and ignored us, asked if we wanted tea or coffee and then didn’t bring any! Everything seemed too much trouble! However, all in all we would return here in the hope that by next time the breakfast staff have had some training in customer service.

Stayed with wife for 3 nights in room number 229. Hotel is centrally located but an old one. Lift is small and slow to respond, infact irritating at times. Bed is provided with mattress, very soft and uncomfortable. The air-conditioner is noisy. The complainant was not rectified gave us a disturbed sleep. Bathroom towels were found torn. However, room & bathroom were sparkling clean. Complimentary breakfast wasn't great. No hot milk provided. Overall a nice stay.

Lovely exterior and great location, just a 2 minute walk to the bus terminal. Check in staff were friendly and welcoming. Rooms are nicely decorated, clean and comfortable. Limited choice for breakfast, but quality of food was really good. Would definitely stay here again on my next visit.

The best thing about this hotel is its location. Within walking distance of shops, restaurants, stations, subway. As is usual with city centre hotels, the standard bedroom is very small, with a tiny bathroom. It’s really too small for 2 people for more than one night. It’s worth upgrading to a bigger room if you’re staying any longer. Our standard room was dark too, with a small window. The grey walls were a strange colour choice for an already dark room, quite oppressive really. On the plus side: easily accessible USB points, plugs near the mirror for hairdrying, comfy bed, lovely soft duvet and everywhere was clean. Breakfast was OK, though nothing to rave about. Staff were lovely, attentive and friendly. On balance, I’d stay there again, only in a bigger room.
