Stayed for 1 night. Lunch menu poor at best .came back after a night out ordered a sandwich on the 24 hr room service only to be told sorry "we don't do that any more" so why do you have menus in the rooms which say available 24hr per day . I find incredible that the paying public can't have a sandwich anytime in a major city hotel We are willing to pay for this!!!!!! If you cant offer this don't put the menus in the room. One day Scotland and the UK will catch up. will never stay here again Customer experience is everything

I attended this hotel for one overnight with my daughter in celebration of my 70th birthday. The hotel staff were very polite, curtious and friendly, the hotel is centrally located at George Square the views from the bedroom could not be better watching all sorts of diverse people going about on a Saturday afternoon in brillent sunshine. The bedroom was well furnished and much bigger than most hotel bedrooms the furnishings were opulant. Breakfast was a buffet with full Scottish and a choice of continental. Coffee , tea and drinks were on tap. I personally prefer a table service but the food on the buffet was all freshly prepared. I have no negatives about this hotel and it is now on my top hotel list for Glasgow. Taxi stand just opposite the hotel

Good hotel in great location in George Square. Enjoy your breakfast in one of the window areas with lovely views of George square and it's fine statues. The building is old and therefore the rooms have a little "tired" appearance but nevertheless this is still a charming hotel.

The hotel is in a prime location in Glasgow right next to the Queens Rail station. It has the beautiful George square in front of it and is located right in the city centre. The room was large, had various forms of temperature control: aircon, heating and a window that could be opened by about 10 cm. The hotel needs an upgrade. You are not greeted by the reception staff, as staff are conferring with each other without acknowledging you. When you finally get the attention there is little in the way of building rapport. I’ve paid €160 for one night and breakfast, so my expectations are higher than when I stayed at the Citizen M earlier in the week where I stayed for 2 nights for the same amount and had a warm welcome as soon as we arrived. Anyway, the room itself was large, the mattress was passable. The bathroom was also large with lots of broken tiles, a worn out loo seat and generally looking uncared for in the last 20 years or so. Yes it was optically clean, I can’t say more than that. The shower was warm but could have had a littler more power to it. The breakfast room was quiet at 9 am on a Sunday, but all tables had dirty plates still on them. I can’t blame the single person on breakfast duty, as she valiantly soldiered on with a big smile and taking the time to make you feel welcome. She cleared a table at the windows for us, which was much appreciated. Breakfast consist of juices which are not freshly squeezed, too few pastries put out to accommodate demand, mostly canned fruit and no good quality cereals like a good muesli, Bircher or similar. On offer are cornflakes and rice crispies. Porridge can be ordered. The seats in the reception area are grubby and worn out. In summary: if you charge €160 then offer the luxury and service that should go with this amount. Other hotels in Glasgow offer more for less.
