First thoughts.....oh dear! Looked very shabby from outside and reception hall and general area badly neglected. However the receptionist was very friendly and despite more misgivings on way to my room I was pleasantly surprised to find a big room, spotlessly clean, adequate work desk and big TV. Free Wi-Fi. The bathroom needed decorated but again it was clean. Was...

The hotel was very simple but adequate. Clean bed, tidy room and hot water. Room was a little tired and there were a few rips in the net curtains but nothing too bad. Breakfast was nothing special but again adequate. Advertised a 'traditional Scottish breakfast with kippers etc. There weren't any at all. Parking was an issue took 25minutes to...

Friendly staff at the 24h reception. Room is small but good, with small flat screen TV and kettle and free wifi. Great location, it's in walking distance to major city points. Excellent traditional breakfast.

I had a concert at the hydro on Wednesday and I booked the Victorian House for the one night. It's about 10mins walk from the bus station which was perfect for me. The receptionist was friendly, explained the check out time, breakfast and where my room was. The room was just a simple single room. Bed, kettle, tv, sink. Pretty...

Plastic bin bags where our welcome in the reception. Given the key to the room walked through the musk aroma of damp filtering everywhere. Pulled the bedding back to find hairs in bed. Obviously not changed the sheets. £78 down the drain as I booked online last minute. Walked straight out with out even considering an argument as the wife...

This was our fourth visit to this hotel over the past few years. When we arrived we tried to make a booking for next year only to be told that they were not taking bookings for two years as they had a block booking. On reading some of the current reviews we are glad we were unable to make the...

Hi & Thanks for your review You are correct, we did go through a phase of accepting refugees for a few months. I can confirm this NO longer the case and we are back to business as usual. We look forward to seeing ALL our regulars in 2017 again!

The staff were very unfriendly and made us feel like an inconvenience. With no elevator we were forced to carry our large luggage up several flights of stairs. Found ourselves in a disgusting room. It was dirty, smelly, and the sheets had a stain. This was worst then a hostel and for the price not worth it at all! BEWARE!

My experience in this place was similar to a one episode in Hell's Hotel, only without Gordon... The entrance is dark and creepy, and the reception is everything but welcoming. I was assigned room 1 on the basement (the keychain was bigger than my purse..). When I entered the room I think my soul left my body trying to run...
