Stayed for one night as a family treat and part as a belated birthday celebration for my daughter. Was an amazing stay. Hotel staff were so welcoming and friendly and really put in effort, particularly in leaving Happy Birthday cards for my daughter. IHG status recognised and we even received an upgrade which really made the experience that much better. Room was amazing, well-maintained, clean, tidy and very well designed. Separate bath and shower was a big ‘wow’ factor and really can’t stress enough how beautiful the bathroom was. There was a great selection in the mini bar, the beds were super comfortable and we all had very good sleeps. We had an excellent dinner in the restaurant and again the staff were fantastic. Food was top quality. Cannot fault the hotel for anything. Would happily stay again, preferably for longer and would make use of the spa/pool facilities. Highly recommend for anyone looking to treat themselves a bit and looking to have a very comfortable, restful stay.

Beautiful hotel, fantastic service from the moment we arrived - special shout out to Iona who made us feel super welcome upon our return as always. The blythswood is one of our favourite chill out spots ever and post Covid there was absolutely 0 faults. Room service was fast, spa & gym were fantastic we booked for 7pm and there was no issues! Cannot wait to return to what we call our ‘second home’

This is not about a stay I had. I wanted to treat my friends to a drink or two from myself when they were staying at this hotel. Unfortunately I couldn't due to the terrible terms and conditions for this hotel you can first of all only buy a monetary gift card for £10 and then it jumps to £25. You should be able to buy £15 or £20 not be forced up another £15. Then I find out that you cannot use the gift card until 72 hrs after purchase. What use is that if you are wanting your friend to use it on their visit in 48 hrs. Its paid for so they should be able to use it. It seems they don't want the extra money for their 5 star hotel.

From my call to Iona to let her know it was a special visit and birthday and her giving us a free upgrade, to Rachel who was always there cheerful and helpful with many requests that we made. The restaurant staff for looking after us so early in the morning. The spa was a welcome visit after all that walking. Mustn’t forget Ian for the extra tea cakes thanks Ian. A fantastic stay and a very warm welcome from all the team well done enjoyed our stay and we enjoyed Glasgow

My partner and I stayed at the Hotel this weekend and were very disappointed with our experience. Having stayed previously at the hotel, I was expecting the same positive experience I had before. At the time of booking, the girl asked if we were staying for a special occasion. As it was my birthday on the day I was staying I asked if possible to have a similar room over looking the square as we had on previous visits. With this also being the first hotel visit in over a year, my partner and I were looking forward to this for weeks. When checking in, we had been told we had been upgraded to a ‘deluxe room’. I was so grateful as anyone would be. Upon arriving at the room, it was completely disappointing. A very dark, dreary room overlooking a brick wall. The room itself was not clean with visible crumbs and marks over the coffee table and sofa. I phoned down to reception asking if we could have a change of room and a manager soon came up to query why we didn’t like the room and telling us we had been given an upgrade. This was not like any other room I had seen or stayed at in the blythswood before and when checking the Deluxe standard of room on the website it was actually cheaper than the room I had originally booked and also looked nothing like the images online. By the time we got moved to a standard of room I had expected, nearly an hour had been spent waiting to be moved. Had this not been my birthday, I would have been happy to wait but the service up until this point had been far from what we were both expecting. As a HGI member I had also received a £10 voucher to spend in the bar. We were told we could only use this for the minibar, which was empty. Also found it disappointing that we could not get entry to the spa. I had phoned up when the hotel reopened and was told by the Lady on reception I could book it a few days before my stay. By this point there was no room and this is partly why we also choose to stay at this hotel. Overall, we found the service to be under par and would not stay again. We feel the hotel has gone downhill since our last stay in 2019.
