Brownlee's was our first stop after arriving in Scotland and we were met warmly by Trevor and Jackie. Brownlee's has a great location. They are so close to The Old Course, shopping and restaurants. Trevor and Jackie are TERRIFIC hosts; very friendly and helpful with many great tips and fun stories. Our room was very clean and comfortable. Breakfasts were... More

4 golf friends spent 5 nights in this excellent guest house. The location is perfect, the owners are very friendly and service minded. Rooms are nice and clean and the tasteful breakfast is an excellent start before a round on a golf course. Highly recommended!

Located steps from the Old Course and from the main shopping and dining area with free parking right outside, Brownlees looked ideal and lived up to expectations. Trevor and Jackie were impeccable hosts who offered us the use of foul weather gear for our rainy golf days and served us delicious breakfasts every morning. Pepsi the cat gave us lots... More

I have visited St Andrews several times and have stayed in different places. Brownlees is a lovely, well located and well run guesthouse in the center of town. Very flexible with arrangements as I was unsure if I would have a guest and also unsure of arrivals. When my departure was very early they very kindly made a pack lunch... More

We stayed here for three nights while visiting the university. Trevor and Jackie were friendly and helpful throughout our stay, and the breakfasts were excellent. They have a house cat (not good if you have allergies I suppose) who is super friendly. The bed is quite comfortable and after spending over a week dealing with very snug continental showers, the... The good: Breakfast very well prepared; Location central St Andrews; Jackie helpful and professional showing care and attention. The room was OK with a good supportive bed The not so good: Parking very difficult during the day (a central St Andrews problem) but no real parking problems at night: Trevor's expressed political views over breakfast; insufficient space at breakfast if... We are sorry that did not enjoy your stay.Unfortunately we have no control over the parking issues in St. Andrews but usually we do not have any problem getting a free car parking space after 5.oopm as the workers leave for the day. The property is up for sale as we near retirement age but as far as the decor... More
