We had booked on our behalf a 3 night stay at The Fairmont Hotel as a a belated Golden Wedding. The hotel a location is superb and we received a warm welcome by reception on arrival. Our room was large with beautiful views over one of the golf courses and further to St Andrews. Breakfast is self service but we’ll laid out and plentiful whether you are having continental or a full Scottish. The spa was excellent. We had a lovely welcome break at a very good hotel.
Really nice hotel, staff were all very helpful and friendly. The room was nice and spacious but the desk in the middle of the room was quite random so pushed it up against the wall to give us more space. We ate in the bar and restaurant, great selection of food and all tastes amazing. Breakfast buffet was one of the best Iv ever had, absolutely everything you could ever want. There is also a mini bus that takes you into centre of st Andrew’s every hour or so, really handy and saves having to get taxis.
A lovely luxurious visit as always. The staff are always attentive and welcoming. Had a fantastic massage which was so relaxing and then enjoyed spending the morning by the pool. Everything was very clean and kept nice and tidy! Can’t wait to be back!
This was our second stay in this hotel this year. First stay in May after hospitality started to reopen was a bit hit and miss which was entirely understandable. This trip was simply stunning, good weather always helps. Location is fabulous, yes out of town, however there is a shuttle bus and taxis are easily booked. Staff at the Fairmont are superb, knowledgeable, friendly and guest focussed. On site are two excellent linksy golf courses, challenging yet not unplayable weather permitting! We were extremely fortunate to have an upgrade to a suite which had a balcony, it was a special occasion to celebrate my wife’s birthday. It was the most amazing hotel room we have ever stayed in. WOW is the word I would use. We both used the leisure facilities, my wife had a treatment while I enjoyed a Guinness at the bar. Dinner followed in The Squire restaurant. La Cucina was closed, another victim of Covid pingdemic and/or Brexit staffing issues impacting all hospitality. Some Italian options are available and any menu can be used. Food was perfectly prepared. Again staff were simply exceptional. Kittocks Den Bar is large, has a positive vibe and very comfortable, Breakfast was busy, however with a little patience it was another memorable experience, a number of dishes are cooked to order and there is a high quality buffet available. It reminded me of the brunch option at the Fort Garry, Winnipeg although not quite as luxurious, that is no criticism at all! Overall a stay at Fairmont, St Andrews is an experience well worth trying out. Covid compliance generally followed well.…
Always enjoy this hotel with high standards and the staff are particularly friendly. However it does appear they are not able to be as attentive as previously. A few times in Kittocks Den or Squire for Breakfast, I had to catch waiter’s eye or call them over to get service… it’s a fine balance between attentive and intrusive service and there was no danger of the latter. That said they are always friendly and I can’t fault their approachability. Hotel standards remain high and this was the second time I’d stayed in a Deluxe Suite… love they layout and features
