Breathtaking view, stunning sunset 🌅 outstanding and wold class facility, extremely friendly and well trained staff. Clean and hygienic, taking all the precaution measurements (disinfecting everywhere frequently) so nothing to worry abut C-19...highly recommend!

We simply can not give a high enough recommendation for a wedding at St Andrews Old Course Hotel. Our intimate wedding (of just 16) in February was a great weekend, and from arrival on Saturday morning through the wedding on Sunday, we had the full support from the excellent staff. The events were seamless for the celebration, and all to the plan we had discussed with the team. Having the family at the hotel for the weekend was the perfect choice, and with the stunning backdrop of one of our favourite places to visit (St Andrews town and historic Old Course) a perfect package. We have been at The Old Course Hotel previously on many occasions, including New Year celebrations, so it was a known quantity for my ‘wife’ and I for luxury, quality and simply a friendly place to be. We had full use of the Library for the vows, and Board room for the Wedding Breakfast. All were planned and prepared with great support from Joelle, including ideas to make the rooms look and feel like a wedding venue. The Board room essentially became our own ‘Fine Dining’ venue and a place to be together throughout the evening. The food was excellent and high recommendation for the drinks and canopies on the wedding menu. One additional note, we had a relative fall taking a walk in the town during the hours leading up to the wedding event. Alison from Guest Relations took a hotel car, and drove our relative to receive medical attention. What a massive above and beyond this was, and made sure our day could progress and could be everything we dreamt of.

Very disappointing greeting on the front desk yesterday. I walked up the long drive and a man called Gordon came outside the front door to greet me. At first I thought he was friendly but I soon realised he wasn’t being particularly accommodating or nice. He heard my English accent asking for a table for tea and coffee and he told me the whole place was full. I then went outside and stopped to pack my mask away. Him and his other colleague continues to glare out of the door at us - very uncomfortable. However, what he didn’t realise was I was then going to call up and ask for a table. The lady on the phone told me there was space and I could book a table. It looked like a really nice hotel but it’s a shame they hire very unwelcoming staff. I would like the hotel to look into Gordon’s behaviour and let me know why this happened. I of course didn’t return to the hotel because I didn’t feel welcome. I probably won’t ever again. Most distressing that people behave like this during a pandemic when we should be nicer to one another.

I stayed 4 nights in room 249. THE GOOD Comfortable bed Bath tub View from restaurant THE BAD View over car park Building works Staff in dark clothes and black facemasks Very ordinary breakfast: no orange marmalade (only 3 fruits, honey and jams); no crispy bacon; no jasmine tea; muesli was a small red packet of cheapo Alpen; eggs were hit and miss, sometimes underdone sometimes underdone. THE UGLY TV switched off 4 times an hour. Central light wasn't working. No pens/paper/anything in room (usual covid excuses except the room charge still high!) Sad old place. Wouldn't stay here again.

Originally had big plans to travel to London for my mother-in-law's 80th birthday, but due to Covid, everything had to get wound down and we had to stay closer to home. Ended up booking a table for six for afternoon tea at the Old Course Hotel, which we went to only two days ago. The Road Hole Restaurant was quite busy, but far from mobbed. The location was lovely, with beautiful views across the golf course to the sea. The staff were very attentive, the sandwiches and cakes were delicious, whilst there was a broad selection of teas. The £20 per head cost was extremely reasonable, as I've paid a lot more at Edinburgh hotels for lesser service. Everybody in our family thoroughly enjoyed themselves and the hotel, despite the restrictions, have really worked hard at providing guests with a safe, five star experience.
