My husband and I have just returned from a weeklong visit to St. Andrews. We were fortunate to spend the entire week at Old Fishergate House with hosts Jennifer and Angus Mitchell. Old Fishergate is a wonderful building from about 1650 that truly has all the comforts of home. It is located near the university but within easy walking distance... More

It's hard for me to imagine anyone awarding Old Fishergate less than five stars. Unbeatable location (short walks to the Castle, seashore, St. Andrews Cathedral, the University and the Old Course!), lovely quarters (each of the two rooms has a separate sitting room) dripping in history (one if the oldest homes in town, built in 1650, and, save for 3... Where do I even begin? First and foremost Angus and Jennifer are the most delightful and charming hosts. They made sure our stay was sheer perfection. The whole place was spotlessly clean, and the linens and towels were of a superior quality. The bed and pillows sheer bliss and we could have stayed in the modern waterfall shower for hours.... My first time in St Andrews, even though I only live 2 hours away. Fantastic trip made even better thanks to this little gem. Room was clean and spacious, with lovely little touches. Location was great. Highlight has to be the breakfast, partner and I were both blown away by how nice the spread was, both in quality and selection.

Great location, excellent food, very comfortable room, quite and cosy 10 out of 10. Jennifer & Angus are lovely hosts with a great local knowledge of the area. Will recommend to others and we will return ourselves.

My husband and I visit St Andrews regularly and tend to stay in a hotel. Having seen the reviews of the old fishergate house we decided to give it a try at the beginning of November. I am so glad we did as from now on this will always be our first choise. The room we stayed in (red room)... More

We stayed here on the 2nd & 3rd October in the red room and it was immaculate. The beds were comfy and the shower was amazing. Best choice of breakfast we have ever had in a B&B and it was delicious, I would recommend the pancakes with bacon. Really liked the little touches, biscuits and a choice of tea/coffee. Great... This place is a little gem! We stayed last weekend with friends taking both of the 2 rooms in the B and B. From arrival to us leaving Jennifer and Angus couldn't have been more accommodating or helpful. The furnishings and décor are beautiful and to a very high standard. Rooms big with a lovely little sitting area and absolutely... More

Not that my review is necessary since everyone else has had the same experience but I just can't help saying how wonderful our time was with Angus and Jennifer. The location, house itself, hosts, and breakfast were absolutely superb. What an experience! Regardless of your reason for being in St. Andrews, you must stay here!

Our stay with Angus & Jennifer Mitchell at their beautiful "Old Fishergate House" B&B in St Andrews was the best place we stayed while visiting Scotland over a two week period. Their home was clean and very comfortable. All our needs (laundry) were met with enthusiasm. The breakfast menu provided us with anything we could want, not to mention how... More
