Thank you Jennifer and Angus for a totally relaxing, cosy, comfortable overnight stay. Was great to have the little extra "snug" room with armchairs, selection of books, decanter of sherry, homemade shortbread, variety of teas/coffee and mini-fridge with milk and water provided and a fab window seat. Wonderful story about the history of the house, don't forget to ask Jennifer! Delicious... More

Standard of the accommodation, the presentation of the breakfasts; both matched the warmth of the hospitality. Excellent in every respect.Absolutely one of the highlights of our trip and stay for our daughter's wedding in St.Andrews. We hope to return one day to stay with Angus and Jennifer.

St. Andrews and this B&B exceeded our expectations. If you want to experience history at its finest then. This this is the place. Located in an ornate street with the castle ruins at one end and the town area with restaurants at the other. Behind you within a few minutes walk is the old cathedral and a lovely walk down... On a very wet dismal 'dreich' day in early June we were welcomed by our lovely hostess Jenny. Perfect in every way this B&B is absolutely superb! Two large size guest rooms with their own sitting rooms with homemade shortbread , a decanter with sherry, a small fridge, modern large spotlessly clean bathroom, books, traditional decor with loads of history... I have no idea how you could possibly beat this place in St. Andrews. It hits all the notes.....superb location, charming 350 year old building, friendly hosts, wonderful spacious room, fabulous breakfast. It's a step back in time, in all the best ways. It's not cheap, but it's worth every penny.

With my three adult sons I spent an extraordinary week of hospitality and good cheer at Old Fishergate House, only a few hundred feet from the ruins of St. Andrews Castle, The rooms were bright, spacious, clean and comfortable; the ample breakfasts were superb. Our hostess and host were welcoming and most accommodating. With forty years of experiencing B&Bs, this... More

Just one night for our second stay here, about a year after our first. Nothing had changed! Warm welcome from Angus and Jennifer and the Red Room this time. Both rooms, which are really mini suites, are beautifully appointed and ooze good taste. The breakfast again was superb and couldn't resist the smoked haddock omelette. While we have been to... My husband and I have just returned from a weeklong visit to St. Andrews. We were fortunate to spend the entire week at Old Fishergate House with hosts Jennifer and Angus Mitchell. Old Fishergate is a wonderful building from about 1650 that truly has all the comforts of home. It is located near the university but within easy walking distance... More

It's hard for me to imagine anyone awarding Old Fishergate less than five stars. Unbeatable location (short walks to the Castle, seashore, St. Andrews Cathedral, the University and the Old Course!), lovely quarters (each of the two rooms has a separate sitting room) dripping in history (one if the oldest homes in town, built in 1650, and, save for 3... Where do I even begin? First and foremost Angus and Jennifer are the most delightful and charming hosts. They made sure our stay was sheer perfection. The whole place was spotlessly clean, and the linens and towels were of a superior quality. The bed and pillows sheer bliss and we could have stayed in the modern waterfall shower for hours....
