The hotel was to a good standard, the restaurant was not value for money as the food was over priced and sometimes over cooked, every member of staff was friendly and very helpful but the wasps where a major problem inside and outside the hotel which was awful, pest control was definitely required.

5 of us went there for a meal the food was very good plenty of choice even for my son who is a really fussy eater. the menu for the kids was one they could color in and the unlimited top ups with the juice for them was great.well recommended and the prices were great as well.

We stayed at the Gilvenbank Hotel on 19/08 for a wedding we were attending there. We arrived at the hotel about half two and after putting our belongings into our room went down to the bar area for a drink. It was well laid out with a restaurant area at the top of the room with the bar/lounge area further... More

I spent a night in this hotel whilst attending a wedding nearby. Wasn't sure about booking here as I had never visited the hotel before but it was recommended by a member of my family and I was very pleased with the standard. Glad I took the up the suggestion. The only fault I could come up with was the... More

Returned to the Gilvenbank after some time in the "wilderness" This was a midweek visit and the hotel was very quiet. Once again booked into a superior room for the extra comfort and space. The staff are still extremely friendly and helpful and although we only stayed one night, we were delighted with the serenity of the hotel. Had dinner... More

This is quite a large restaurant which offers the standard pub grub fare. The service was good and informal and the food pleasantly presented. There is plenty parking and you don't feel rushed in any way. Nothing was either outstanding but neither was any dish below expectations.

The food was nicely presented and there was plenty of it. The staff were really friendly and well trained even though they were all very young. The dining room and bar area... More

Stayed here as we were attending a wedding, nearby. Quite a large hotel catering for locals ---Sunday roast, Karaoke evening, Quiz night -----as well as providing rooms, and function rooms/wedding venue. Very pleasant and helpful staff. Our room was a little tired looking. Could do with some of the furniture replacing. Very good, room only rate. Can't comment on breakfast... More
