Just had a wonderful few nights stay at Greenhead Farm with Maggie and Malcolm. The hosts are unique, nothing is too much trouble. Our room was large, very clean and warm with everything that we needed or wanted. Breakfast was eagerly anticipated each morning. Lunch not at all necessary. We cannot wait to visit again and look at the beautiful...

We can't say enough about the welcome and hospitality at this establishment. Maggie's edible offerings were lovely, and all her dining recommendations were spot on. Don't worry if you don't have solid plans, just ask Malcolm what to do and see, and you will have the ultimate Scotland experience. And for dog lovers, Miss Pippert offers her own, expert greetings...

Thank you for your generous comments. I am so glad that you enjoyed your stay with us and liked the garden and I do hope that you will come back and spend time with us at a different time of the year so that you can bird watch on Loch Leven, and see a different aspect of the garden.

The greatest B&B ever - lovely in all aspects. The house and the rooms are prepared with a lot of detail, the service is just great - never had so good tea. Also a good choice for visiting Edingburgh ;-)

Just like staying with family - if you have particularly agreeable family, that is, who own a lovely big house set in beautiful gardens. Stayed for one night while travelling on business near Glenrothes. If you don't want to stay in an anonymous hotel and you don't mind being a bit out of town, then look no further. Charming hosts,...

We stayed one night in the Westray room. It is a beautiful, clean room - ensuite. It is a luxery B&B/guesthouse. The breakfast was all right and the hosts Maggie and Malcom were very kind and helpfull. We can recommend this B&B. It is very difficult to find. When you are coming from the M90, drive through Scotlandwell. Then at...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Greenhead of Arnot is a Fife farmhouse B&B that dates from about 1840, with additions in 2000, which have made the house spacious and modern; ideal for the country house bed and breakfast business which Malcolm and Maggie Strang Steel have developed there. The farmhouse can be found on the south slopes of the Lomond Hills on the border of Fife and Kinross-shire and is situated within 590 acres of farmland and woodland, surrounding a twenty five acre reservoir. These provide a variety of bird life in the woods and on the reservoir, enjoyable walks and magnificent views across the Firth of Forth. There is trout fishing available on the farm by arrangement.Greenhead is not just a place to stay for what it can offer itself. There is something for everyone within an hours drive: the Edinburgh Festival, the beaches of the Fife coast, golf at St. Andrews, Gleneagles and numerous other courses, castles in Edinburgh, Stirling, Blair Atholl and Glamis, and fine scenery wherever you go.The bedrooms have very comfortable beds, and an excellent selection of books and TV. Breakfast is served in the dining room – porridge, cereals, fruit and superb locally-sourced eggs, bacon and sausages. A three or four course dinner, including produce from the garden, farm and other local shops can be requested in advance. Maggie loves to cook and uses fresh and seasonal foods throughout the year whenever possible. Guests can relax with their afternoon tea by the log fire in the drawing room or sit in the summer sunshine in the garden enjoying the roses.Maggie and Malcolm enjoy having guests to stay and helping them to find all that is on offer locally and throughout Scotland. Malcolm is interested in history while Maggie enjoys gardening and outdoor activities. Just 10 minutes from the M90, Greenhead Farm is a peaceful place from which to visit the many attractions in the central area of Scotland or to simply break your journey. ... more   less
