What a wonderful stay! Our room was beautifully decorated, had a boutique feel and every amenity we could need, plus a very comfy super king size bed. The house itself, whilst only 2 minutes walk to the bus into town, is incredibly peaceful. The bus takes you into town in 15 minutes, which is fantastic. The location is great as it's close to town and 5 minutes walk to Edinburgh Zoo (which we loved also!) The owners were wonderful, so helpful and the choice of breakfast was perfect. We stayed in a few locations in Scotland and this was our favourite by a mile.
We spent 2 nights here and enjoyed ourselves thoroughly. The house and room was appointed beautifully. The bathroom was about the size of our hotel room in Portree. They were very helpful in booking our early morning taxi to the airport which was a little over 10 minutes away. Walking distance to the Zoo and good restaurants. Direct bus service to the city centre.
Had a wonderful stay here the hospitality they showed us was great. Lovely breakfast in the morning and were very helpful with questions we had. The room we stayed in was beautiful would recommend to everyone...
We stayed at Briarley house, for 2 nights. We were visiting Edinburgh, to support friends, running the marathon. It was a beautiful little find. It really did feel like home from home. Our room was beautiful and very big. Was lovely to be able to return to the room for a soak in the bath. The breakfast was lovely too. With choices for all. The hosts we lovely. Very welcoming and very helpful. I was so surprised how easy it was to get into Edinburgh. The bus stop was a stone throw away and took you straight into the city. Never waited longer than a few minutes. I would definitely return to Briarley house (hopefully for the Christmas markets)
Upon the recommendation of some Canadian friends of ours, we decided to stay in this delightful old home. What we needed was a hotel or B & B that had on-site parking. Briarley House fit that criteria plus with a short bus ride (from a bus stop almost across the street), we could be downtown Princes Street where all the sights are. Breakfasts were delicious and our room with ensuite bathroom, was lovely and comfortable. We would highly recommend staying here.
