We stayed here during the art festival season. The owners were very nice and welcoming. The place offers a feeling of 'home". Every spot is clean, especially the room. The bathroom is shared but adequate. It is is spotless throughout our stay. The breakfast is delicious and freshly cooked every day! there are a lot of choices on the table.... More

Good location about 20 minutes walk from the city centre with a bus stop directly outside for a frequent service if you prefer. Banks, pubs, restaurants, shops etc. are within 10 minutes walk, although we found better quality as you get closer to town. The guest house is on a very busy road so expect some traffic noise especially if... More

My wife and I arrived at the Ascot early in the morning after a redeye flight from the US. The innkeeper was very accommodating, agreeing to keep our luggage for us until check in time. He recommended a trip to the National Museum of Scotland to kill time until we could check in, so we took a bus there and... More

Two friends and I stayed here for a week during the fringe. The owners were very welcoming and helpful. We shared a triple room with two double beds and one single. The room was large, clean and comfortable and had a sink. The bathroom we shared with one other room was small but perfectly adequate. The breakfast was delicious and... More

We had a 3 night stay in July 2014. The owners were welcoming, helpful and gave good advice on where to go in Edinburgh. The walk from the house into town was not too difficult, but there are buses just outside if you want to catch the bus. The nearby pub, The Salisbury Arms had excellent food and was recommended... Lovely guest house. Very clean, good sized, comfortable rooms. There are parking spaces available and the bus stop is conveniently right outside. Buses are very frequent and it is the best way to get around the city. The owners were very welcoming and very helpful. The breakfast choice was huge and the full Scottish breakfasts we ate were delicious, however,... More

We all thoroughly enjoyed staying here! Beds were comfy, rooms were perfect and there was enough breakfast to fill you up for the day! It was pretty relaxed in the sense that you could come and go as you please. The owners were very friendly and helpful.

Brilliant guest house. Great at home feel, extremely comfortable room and bed (excellent cross breeze with the windows open), and the owners are very pleasant and helpful. Delicious breakfast. Perhaps the most comfortable stay on our trip through Scotland (which has went through much of the country), and by far the most affordable!
