Stayed here with my boyfriend, luckily only for one night. The whole hotel was extremely poorly decorated; from the carpet being sticky to the awful wallpaper. Staff did not welcome us into the hotel and had to wait 5 minutes before we were seen to at the desk. However, it does overlook a large park. I would not consider returning... More

The staffs attitude was stinking and unprofessional. Their English was not very good which made their attitude get worse. There was holes in the walls, stains on the bed sheets. You had to share a shower and toilet with strangers, the windows were plastic with no curtains or blinds. There was no heating at all, I was absolutely freezing. I... More

Our rooms were quite poor, but functioned OK. The reception staff was great and really helpful. Suggestion - when booking ask for a room with solid window. The locations was OK (park side), walking distance to the Royal Yacht and city center, or about 2-3 blocks from a bus stop.

Staff very cold and unprofessional as they handed my change from their jacket pocket and not a money box and used crappy space heaters (two of them) and an extra old duvet, we needed to for a drafty room placed right below the entrance stairs. Charged us a whopping 170 pounds which would be fine during Hogmany if we were... More

We booked this hotel because it's cheap as the period is peak period. Anywhere else in Edinburgh or near to the town center is very expensive. So we do not expect much from the price that we had it. The location is quite convenient as there are buses for you to get to the town center. This hotel is in... More

We arrived just before 2pm & asked the young girl if we could possibly leave our bags as we were @15 mins early to get into our room. Unfortunately, she appeared to have no idea what we were saying as she didn't seem to speak English. When we were given the keys it was like going back in time. Threaded... More

This was a last minute booking as we had tickets to the proclaimers ,it was cheap. After booking we read some reviews and I don't think any of them were very good, however if you are looking for somewhere to lay your head the Adelphi is clean if a bit dated but the staff were pleasant and helpful
