We three stayed in the family room, and were very pleased with all aspects of our visit. Transportation directions from the airport were clear and easy to follow. Some might think it a bit far to walk to the city center. but if that is a concern, the bus is very convenient. Location was very quiet, and breakfasts were wonderful.... More

This was a perfect B&B! A perfect host with a wealth of information which was a great help to us. Dalkeith is a perfect location for quick visits into the city. Breakfast was perfect and the coffee was the best! Dorothy helped us with every detail. The rooms very clean and a perfect way to end our day! Will stay... More

We stayed in the family room at the Kenvie and it fit our needs perfectly. Dorothy was very accommodating with suggestions of a restaurant we could walk to the night of our arrival for dinner. It was nice to have some chairs in the dining room that we could use in the evening to relax and read. We used the... More

my room overlooked Arthur's Seat - I could lie in bed and watch the sun come up over Arthur's Seat. Can you get better than that? Bed was really comfortable, so were pillows, hugely important to an elderly traveller. Dorothy was very informative about local inns, bus services, and other tourist-type questions, and very pleasant and helpful.

Dorthy is delightful, helpful and always concerned about your visit in Edinburgh. The. Kenvie house is clean, well kept and a delightful place to stay. Hot water each day. A wonderful breakfast each morning, tea and coffee in the room. If you are visiting Edinburgh Dorothy steers you to the correct bus to get to the royal mile and castle.

Had a very nice stay. As other a have noted, there are a fair number of stairs. Dorothy is lovely. Her fruit bowl breakfast was incredible. One day we had to leave early for a tour so she left continental out for us which we really appreciated. Bathroom was very small and we had three people in the room so... More

Couldn't have asked for a better place to spend New Years with my girlfriend. Very warm and friendly welcome from Dorothy and a genuinely nice guest house to stay in. Will undoubtedly come back during the next trip up to Scotland!

The owners, Dorothy & Richard, make this B&B special. Parking is difficult in the area but Dorothy kept watch and shouted to me when a spot opened. Our room was a bit tight but very clean and comfortable. The dining room is beautiful and the breakfasts excellent. The neighborhood is very pleasant and there is good access for a quick... More

We spent a week here and really enjoyed it. Dorothy is friendly, helpful, and knows the area well. Kenzie House is a short bus trip or inexpensive cab ride from the Royal Mile. Breakfast was good, and the WiFi was excellent.

My husband and my aunt and uncle stayed here for two nights after traveling from York. Dorothy was very pleasant and accommodating. The rooms were surprisingly large as we had an en suite bathroom. Beds were comfortable and bathrooms very clean. Turn in your breakfast orders at night for Dorothy to cook a lovely meal in the morning! The four... More
