The price for the August stay was too expensive. The room was too dark. WE like the location. Wi-Fi for free which is the big plus. The mattresses were not really comfy. It was quite noisy outside our room. Room was located next to the restaurant.

My son and I loved staying here. We shared a 2 bedroom suite and were very pleased with the cleanliness and spaciousness of it. The room had everything we needed and the bathroom came with towels. All the people who worked here were extremely helpful and friendly and ready to answer questions and give recommendations, when asked. I would rate... More

It was the first time that I've stayed in a hostel with 13 beds. I was a little worried that it wouldn't be a good ideia, however it has exceeded my expectation. The hostel is clean, clean rooms, there is no much noise at night and the staff is great!

Great location and lovely interiors. Enjoyed the food in the bar and there is a guest kitchen. Wifi barely works in room if at all, bed squeaked. Will not check in before 3 pm, there is luggage storage. Generally a line at reception to get key however.

Great location just off the Royal Mile, great breakfast selection at a very reasonable price, and inexpensive food and drink at the bar. That's the good points. The bad points our room was overlooking the bar courtyard so very noisy well into the wee hours. See if you can get a quiet room. Room size below average.

Great value for money and spacious rooms. Towels are provided for free and locker too. the common areas are good and look very good value for money. Beds however are not very clean and sheets can be cleaner. Toilets are very basic too.

Bedrooms were nice and clean, the beds were comfy, the noise wasn't loud even though we were by the clubs, and the staff were really friendly and helpful. The location of this hostel is great right off the Royal Mile and near clubs and bars also. Something for everyone!

Staying in Old Town

Neighborhood Profile
Old Town
Few Edinburghers live in the Old Town, but its labyrinth of dank alleys and steep streets suggests this was not always the case. Today, it’s mostly visitors, tartan-flavored souvenir shops, and pipers that you’ll find on its cobbled streets. This is the place to get a feel for Auld Reekie (Old Smelly), as the town was once nicknamed, and stroll the Royal Mile, the thoroughfare that links the castle with the royal palace – two of Edinburgh’s great set-piece attractions. But there’s lots more exploring to do here down dozens of little alleys, or wynds, while at night the city’s busiest clubs erupt along the Cowgate which is closed to traffic for this purpose.
