9 of us stayed on the 25th March. We were a bit unsure about what a hostel would be like but I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it! Great staff, perfectly functional rooms and bar and public areas excellent. A very minor point was we weren't told key cards were £5 each if lost so we had to pay a further...

Great location at the heart of the city (Old Town), very close to the pubs and clubs. A good hostel, friendly stuff and a cool restaurant & cafe. Perfect choice for solo travellers. Definitely worth the money.

We booked this facility after staying at the safe stay in London. It is nicely appointed and the location is great but the reception staff seemed really annoyed and unpleasant. Groups were running up and down the halls, laughing and socializing after midnight and then up early in the morning yelling and pounding on doors to try to wake up...

I stayed in this hostel just one night. I arrived quit early in morning and I knew that check in was at 3 o'clock. The girl at the reception with dark hair and a piercing on the lips was a bit unfriendly telling me that that "I should know that check in was at 3 o'clock", well I was aware...

I am very happy with my stay in this hostel. Service was really really nice and helped me a lot, even at night and the day I was leaving. The facilities are fantastic, each bed has a small light and a plug, and also a locker. The room is dark at night so I slept really good. I liked having...

The Hostel is well located and staff were really friendly. Our room was clean and well ventilated. Breakfast buffet was good and the bar has good prices. Rooms facing the patio deal with some noise from the bar buy if you don't mind they are good too. People should bring their own locks as lockers don't have them. Overall it...

The hostel is clean and fairly quiet. The rooms have standard amenities. The breakfast was not great, but there are so many good options in Edinburgh, it didn't really matter. The staff was very friendly.

Where to begin. When I arrived to check in at three, there were quite a few people also waiting. But only one staff member to check us all in. The check in process is incredibly tedious, as they take your details, and then you have to write them all out again. It isn't streamlined st all. Took me about 35...

I was not used to sleep in a multiple room but it was ok. The price could allow you to stay longer in Edimburgh downtown and visit a wonderful city. It could be useful if they could offer towels. Spero di tornarci

Staying in Old Town

Neighborhood Profile
Old Town
Few Edinburghers live in the Old Town, but its labyrinth of dank alleys and steep streets suggests this was not always the case. Today, it’s mostly visitors, tartan-flavored souvenir shops, and pipers that you’ll find on its cobbled streets. This is the place to get a feel for Auld Reekie (Old Smelly), as the town was once nicknamed, and stroll the Royal Mile, the thoroughfare that links the castle with the royal palace – two of Edinburgh’s great set-piece attractions. But there’s lots more exploring to do here down dozens of little alleys, or wynds, while at night the city’s busiest clubs erupt along the Cowgate which is closed to traffic for this purpose.
