Very small room with no AC so very warm when I arrived. Also no lift so difficult with luggage. Very nice location but very expensive for a room that was only 14 m2! The bathroom was truly tiny and you needed a ladder to get into the bath/ shower. Staff were lovely and attentive so no fault there.
Excellent customer service, beautifully appointed rooms, and very good location! The breakfast was tasty, with fast and courteous service from the wait staff. A delightful experience, and our third floor room had a lovely view.
The room was small and had a very small bathroom. You could wash your hands while sitting on the toilet. There was only room for 1 person in the bathroom. We were expecting a car park. Unfortunatly there was not. You could park on the street but had to pay 3.7 pound /hour which becomes expensive very soon. We found ourselfs an underground parking for 22 pound a day. I would look for a hotel outside edinburgh and take a bus in the city.
Very helpful and friendly staff, good water pressure and hot water with full sized tub, nice big towels, enjoyable breakfast with the option of ordering from a menu, spacious rooms, cozy bed with good linens and plenty of pillows, good soaps/shampoos/conditioner (L'Occitane).
We stayed in the jacuzzi suite which is a good sized room. The jacuzzi nicely fits 2 people and is very relaxing. Hotel staff are very pleasant and helpful and the room has plenty of storage for your stuff.
We had high expectations for the price we paid and the advertisement of the award winning hotel. On arrival we saw very pour finish in our room and a small impractical bathroom. As a result from these high expectations we also were bothered about the lack of bottles of water in the room and the lack of a smart tv, which in these times is more common than exceptional. Wouldn’t recommend and won’t return.
Room was very damp cold. Heating was off when we came back from the sight seeing. Receptionist said heating automatically went off after 9pm. Room was freezing damp.I asked him weather he can help to tackle the issue. First he brought a fan which was blowing cold only. Then he brought the second one over. It was a very noisy ( as noisy as small production line) old fan. He tried his best by the way:) But all night long I had a dilemma weather to bear this noise or freeze to dead. One way or another I literally had no chance to sleep.I had a horrendous sleepless night in a so called luxury hotel room EVER. Other than that the room was not in mint condition too much dust in everywhere. One and Only positive thing about this small luxury hotel experience was the stuff were brilliant and super nice.…
This hotel is a glorious Georgian gem, and a good example of why to trust the Small Luxury Hotel family. It is located in a quaint and quiet neighbourhood close to the shops, bars and restaurants of Stockbridge and is a 20 minute walk to Edinburgh Waverley. I stayed in the cosy “wee double” - perfect for a late check-in and very early check-out. The shower room is rather on the slim side, with a tiny basin, but the hotel is transparent that the room is “compact in size”. There’s scope for improvement with the duvet and pillows, which aren’t quite up to a 4 star standard. The staff were supremely friendly and helpful. I will definitely stay again!
This hotel was booked last minute, the room was excellent, the service and food the same, will definitely return. The area of the city was also perfect, quiet, but within a 5 minute walk of the city. Local shops and restaurants were plentiful.
We stayed on top floor. The room fittings seem to be have chosen more for appearance than usefulness (coffee maker lead to short to use, v slippery bathroom floor, cupboard doors with broken hinges). But the location is brilliant and staff and breakfast both excellent.
