The Airdenair is a very nice B&B and well managed by "the Boss" Jill. Doug, Nancy and the family are always very helpful if there are any questions. The house has a good a Atmosphere and is nicely decorated. The bed was very good, we slept like babies, and the breakfast made us fit as a fidel again. We'd like... More

After a long train ride from London to Edinburg then a short taxi ride to the Airdenair Guest House we were greeted with a warm welcome by Jill. She was very good at explaining walking distance to local restaurants and short walk to bus transportation. Jill showed us to our room which was very clean and comfortable with a large... More

For over 40 years now I have traveled around the world and frequently follow the Rick Steves guidebooks. My experience is that many of those recommendations were made 20+ years ago and have given many proprietors a guaranteed source of bookings and prosperity. My experience at this B&B was difficult. Jill not only meets the typical Scottish personality of dour... More

I stayed at the Airdenair Guest House three nights in April, having flown into Edinburgh then taken the bus. Pros: Jill was very friendly and welcoming and my room was more than ready for me when I arrived. The front door was open when I got there as it was a warm spring day. The house is filled with wonderful... More

We picked this hotel based on the positive reviews but were ecstatic when we found out they had a resident cat! Upon our arrival, we were greeted warmly by our hosts and Leo the beautiful fluffy ginger cat (who was timid at first but warmed up to us later). Our room had a wrap around big bay window and we... I remember my trip like it was yesterday. In the months that followed 9/11 there was much fear of flying... but even though i was nervous i came anyway... Jill was away on business but her husband was a great source of information and kindness. The room was great, and had an en suite bathroom. Great room at a great... More

Jill and Doug were friendly hosts and made a terrific English breakfast in a lovely dining room. The room was good-sized and the neighborhood was quiet and refined. It was a quick walk to the bus to get to the sights. My one complaint common to most of the places we stayed in the UK is that top sheets aren't... More

Jill and Doug are wonderful hosts-- very fun and had lots of great advice about running around town. The B&B is clean and quiet, in a good neighborhood that is close to the bus line. We stayed for three nights for the Fringe festival and Military Tattoo for our honeymoon, and were quite pleased with our choice of lodging.

Jill, Doug and Sally were excellent hosts. The house is in a quiet neighborhood about a twenty minute walk from the Royal Mile and a ten minute walk to Holyrood Park. Nice walks to two golf courses and a nature preserve. The room was two flights up from the street, comfortable, breakfast cooked to order and neighborhood restaurant and pub... More
